I read that this may finally be Berman's last year at ESPN on air *crosses fingers*. If so, I may give their NFL shows a chance again. Haven't watched in a few years.

 

I mostly know him as the fat, oafy **** that helps ruin the Pebble Beach Pro-am every year.

Apparently he's also got quite the ego and is a huge dick. Did you guys know that?

Sometimes rumors are a like a game of telephone. You never quite know what was originally said. Perhaps, if any of us run into him, someone should ask him what he likes to do with maple syrup. We could solve this mystery.

I believe the rumor comes from folks who have had the misfortune of being around him and/or serving him.

it's not really a rumor this guy has youtube videos of him shi tting all over his crew if one tiny minute thing goes wrong. he seems like a nice dude, till you hear him rip apart a whole production crew over nothing.

I get the nostalgia part about Berman. I grew up with him on NFL PrimeTime on Sunday Nights. I do think he's a great historian of the game, though he's hokey in the way he goes about his delivery. Plus, he's a Bills and Jets guy. If it is his last year, I think he's had a great career doing what he's done and I'll miss him for that reason, but the delivery of someone else would be a nice change.

I was at the JFK airport about 20 years ago and Berman was waiting for a flight the same time I was. I didn't want to bother him because I just don't believe in disturbing people and I am not overly impressed with those individuals who are somewhat famous. I watched several people go up to him and ask for his autograph and to take a picture with him.

He appeared to enjoy the fans and he took the time to interact with the people who came up to him. Of course this was many years ago and perhaps fame has gone to his head over the years, but he certainly seemed like a good guy the one time I observed him in person.
