Nice read...accentuates all the positives we've been talking about here. The real season starts very soon and perhaps we'll see what we really have when Brat Favre and co. visit...
Wow, someone who actually pays attention to practice and pre-season games. Not just a canned answer we here from the rest of the media. How refreshing.
Wow, Yahoo beats ESPN and SI on the quality of team reviews IMO. Of course the best reviews are found right here in the forum!
I don't care about how SI or espn have analysts who have poor opinions, just make sure their valid. Do the research and make accurate statements to base opinions. Yahoo def. did a better job.
It was a good read. Quite obviously whoever did write it did at least some research instead of just dredging up "1-15 last year....." When I read the "experts" predicting 3-4 wins this year, I know the writer never even bothered to look into the why Plain and simple, a very significant factor in last year's debacle was a rash of injuries to key players/positions along with no viable options for back ups. QB, for instance. We had all our eggs in one basket with Trent Green, in spite of his fragility. It was pretty much the same with Ronnie Brown (although we didn't know it at the time). Zach (sick33 - take notice of the spelling) gets injured. And countless DBs go down for the season. Didn't we also have some injuries at LG? In addition Cam was in over his head. He really should have hired an OC. There's no way of knowing how we would have done without all the injuries. But all of the above are valid reasons for a 1-15 season. It seems to me that if we can avoid injuries to key positions .500 is realistic. Predominantly, this means taking care of home field; that's all. But I won't be surprised if we finish better than that. An awful lot of games are won merely because a little bit of serendipity happened along.
