Second worst pass blocking oline in the NFL in 2014? Suddenly, I remember Albert is coming off two ligament tears and all the excitement I have for this season becomes fear...
In the Dolphins defense, nobody else did and we were a VERY close runner-up to Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to get him as an UDFA. EDIT: I wouldn't trade Tony Lippett for him and he was our last draft pick.
Until he's not there starting in week 1, I can only go with optomism in the offseason thinking Albert will be healthy and ready to go.
I think people forget how bad Tannehill's protection has been the last couple of years when they expect that he should just be able to overcome his circumstances and and carry the team to the playoffs. And IMO last year's level of protection was a huge upgrade from the previous year. Do you realize how bad your pass blocking has to be when a huge upgrade gets you to the second worst in the league?
I don't think they're close to finished with adding offensive linemen. Wouldn't mind seeing Jake Long as a left guard. Blalock, Connelly and Mathis remain options. I don't think 3/5's of our starting line makes it through game 10. We need 3 high caliber backups to make it through the brutal d-lines of the east.
I've been thinking about Jake Long at guard since before last season ended. Think it would be worth a shot.
