Not having to run for his life after the ball is snapped will certainly take some getting used to.

The problem for those trying to forget those last two games and only focusing on the whole year overall is, those two games came at the end. Were those two games just a hiccup, or do they represent an inconsistency in RT that he needs to work on? He just had a fantastic game against Tom Brady. What did he learn?
It's not unfortunate those games came at the end (in regards to evaluating Tanny), it's unfortunate he played that way at the end. That said, he improved from last year, and hopefully he does again this year.
But those two games are crucial. They were not against elite teams, and they were for the team's playoff hopes. Those two games separate the Jay Cutlers from the Eli Mannings. One you win a couple super bowls with. The other you get in the area surrounding the big game but never get in. -
I hope we make the playoffs this year. If we don't, I think Tannehill will really be under the microscope. He already is, but more so.
Griffin got his team to the playoffs in his first year. Luck both years. Wilson's been both years and has a SB victory to his credit. Weeden hasn't... and he may not be long for the league. The Dolphins had an awful receiving corps Tannehill's rookie year, and we had an awful line last year. This year, though, there can't be any excuses. It's a quarterback-driven league. I love Tannehill and want, want, want him to succeed. My girlfriend got me his jersey for Christmas, and it was my favorite gift. But he's got to win. This is the year. -
the jets game the dolphins were running the ball well and then abandoned it. tannehills knee still didnt look right, and the defense could do absolutely nothing. the whole team stunk, it happens to even legends, let a lone a second your qb who is still learning the game on a team that basically threw him to the wolves expecting him to carry the whole team on his back. tannehill doesnt have the luxury some of the other younger qb's in the league have. dan marino had the weight put on his shoulders his whole career and had nothing to show it, and im pretty sure he was better than eli manning.(who is a **** luck throw and a wes welker drop from being 0-2 in the superbowl and hardly "clutch")fin13 likes this. -
So it's not that people who are on the fence with Tannehill only remember those last two games, because he did exactly as we've been saying all year long. It was just much more apparent to everyone else because other stuff went wrong too (like the Jets and Bills blitzing every down of the entire game, and out coordinator never making a single adjustment). Tannehill played bad, but those were team losses across the board. -

become a vocal leader on this team.
learn to throw an accurate deep ball.
dont be afraid to use that 4.5 speed when all else fails.
do those 3 things and we are a playoff team. -
Of course Dan Marino was better than Eli. Who even brought Dan in here? My point in showing Cutler and Eli are two marginal QBs who are good enough to get you into the playoffs, yet one wins two superbowls, the other always seems to fall short. After 19 games, 4 playoff wins you attribute the whole season to Tyree's catch and Wes Welker's drop?
Do the Giants win if Wes Welker drops that pass, but the Giants are behind?
Was that pass to Tryee the game winner? Or did Eli have to make a few more passes, including the game winner to Plaxico? -

Hopefully he is upright enough to establish a consistent deep ball in year 3.
A playoffs game would also be a welcome new challenge next year!
