It's universally agreed by most draft analysts that the Dolphins got two steals in the 2008 draft, picking up Clemson's Phillip Merling and Michigan quarterback Chad Henne in the second round.

If you check on the prospect chart of the top 50 players in 2008 (CLICK HERE FOR IT), you'll see that both Merling (rated as a top-15 prospect) and Henne are securely in there. On paper that means the Dolphins had a killer draft, picking up three players with first round grades.
    Impressive right?

But which of those steals - Merling or Henne - will bring the Dolphins the biggest payout?

And of the team's few draft reaches - defensive tackle Kendall Langford, offensive guards Shawn Murphy and Donald Thomas, a former walk-on - which of these productive small school players will provide the biggest return on the team's investment?

And since we're on Murphy and Thomas, which of those two becomes the starting right guard, or does Drew Mormino pimp slap both and hold onto the starting spot he held for much of last season's training camp before having his shoulder wear down on him.

What new Dolphin, traded players included, will have the biggest impact in 2008?

He may not be sexy but Jake Long will have the biggest impact in 2008. The Miami Dolphins will run the ball like they haven't run it since the mid 70's.
