Well, Titans have issues of their own, I watched the game and thought Young did not play poorly, so Fisher's move is more than likely due to either whatever went on in the locker room, or Young going rogue on the OC. Either way though, with Collins out, the Titans are in arguably a worse situation than we are with Ramsey as the #2 or #3.
http://www.profootballweekly.com/2010/11/21/fisher-young-done-as-titans-starting-qb I think this may have been something that had been boiling over time. Vince Young has a severe attitude problem, and I don't think the coaching staff at Tennessee has ever completely gotten behind him, for good reason, IMO. Vince is not a good quarterback at all, and this year, the Titans have done an excellent job of hiding his inadequacies by limiting him and his attempts. They can thank Bud Adams for this. Bud went for fanfare instead of effectiveness when he forced Floyd Reese and Jeff Fisher to draft Vince Young instead of Jay Cutler. As up and down as Cutler has been, he's far better as a quarterback than Vince Young ever has or ever will be.
Young is one of those Qb's I really have no opinion on, I know he wins games, I don't think he is a great Qb per se but the ultimate goal is winning.
In the words of Brian Billick: "Quarterback rating is a useless measurement" And then he went and played XBox with his friends.
PFT: Young and Fisher may no longer be able to co-exist For the vocal minority that seems to blame Brandon Marshall’s “diva” behavior for the ills of the 2010 Miami Dolphins, I present a reminder of what diva behavior actually looks like. That is destructive behavior, folks.
Young has the tools and talent to be a good QB, when he's motivated. For whatever reason, the coaching staff has never fully trusted him with the job. It looks like the Young era in Tennesee is finally over however. Hopefully he gets himself in the right situation on another team....maybe here?
Thought about it, the thing with Qb's though, you can not have wild behavior from the guy who plays Qb, he has a huge bonus due as well. Henne for Young..straight up?
We wouldn't be, it would be Henne for Young, we pay his 14 millie, they get Henne. I think that would be a terrible idea, Belicheck would horse laugh coming up with schemes. Besides, just proposing it will drive KB gonzo..
Ah, my comment was actually for the post above yours & I agree it would be a bad trade. I already believe all our opponents do a horse laugh & drip salvia when they game plan against us.
I don't blame the season on Marshall by any means but he has made a couple of really stupid penalties and shown some really poor judgement. Young is on another level for sure but Marshall got a huge contract from us, I don't understand the excuses for his bonehead plays or bad attitude at times. Just because someone is worse than him doesn't mean Marshall hasn't been an idiot a few times himselef.
I wouldn’t describe Marshall as having a bad attitude. He’s been frustrated, as we all have. Vince Young is showing just how minor Marshall’s “antics” have been.
Rusty Smith starting. Should be interesting. Of course, since I am an Owls fan, I'm hoping for Smith to do awesome.
I wouldn't even sign Vince to a league minimum contract. The guy is a terrible quarterback and attitude problem to boot.
It was a bad marriage from the go. Fisher never eanted him there, and he has shown, he didn't want to be there too. Fisher should look to Seattle or somewhere else to trade him. I personally don't think VY wants to play football. His heart is not into it.
Yesterday , either Troy Aikman or Phil Simms said they liked QB ratings, not that either one is the end all be all of QB play , just saying .... Don't know the details of VY and Fisher / Tenn , he obviously isn't the most mature , dedicated leader at the position , he does win though and is far from the least productive starting QB in this league. The ongoing saga of the NFL continues lol.
I'm going to call it right now, Jeff Fisher will quit, this is the nightmare of a Owner not backing his coaches decision when it comes to an athlete, no thanks to Vince Young in Miami.
Well VY isn't coming to Miami , I just said I would sign him for min. contract , and I would. I read that as well , and he is the owner .... so kind of waiting to see where this goes.
