Reminds me of that one who did the same on the bodybuilding forum and the cops busted his door in live. No doubt some were egging him on

Anybody who is committed to killing themselves is doing it for something more or other than the attention. They most likely just decided that whatever pain they are feeling is not worth battling through. IMO setting up the webcam for a committed suicide is about sending a message.
-
Which again, makes even less sense. Like they really believe doing something like that will change the world.
Everyone reads this, a few people feel sad, and then we all forget a few weeks later.MikeHoncho likes this. -
For the record, I didn't mean he or anyone else was or has committed suicide for attention, the web cam **** is what I'm referring to...

but seriously, i'm fascinated by footage of the ending of a life. just watching the moment someone stopped being alive really amazes me - the video capture is immortalizing a significant event. reminds me of overseas man.... the enemy... right at death i swear you could see their soul ascending. trippy ****MikeHoncho and Pandarilla like this. -

This world can be such an obvious nightmare, it baffles me how more people don't meditate or seek deeper understanding when it comes to death.Bpk, MikeHoncho and NaboCane like this. -

I've had a so called friend who did that, and I did go to the funeral, but it was so I could be there for his friends and family. -

I don't think it's right or wrong - just that it's significant. Think about it - thousands of billions, possibly trillions of people have died in this world since the beginning of time. How few have the ends of their lives immortalized, however unspectacular the deaths might be? In this case this kid had, what, 20+/- years of life, history, family, tons of friends and acquaintances... a story... that he left behind. You just witnessed the end of that. What's even crazier? That his mother, father, girlfriend, sister, best friend, grandmom, and everyone else that was in his life - had to watch it. mind-boggling, seriously. Put yourself in his mother's shoes.
Now when you see it in person, words cannot describe. You feel all of the same above but you also realize "I'm the only person that was able to witness this life end." His mother & father will not know what happened. His wife & children won't know - and that's the bad part. You want the loved ones to know. Not watch obviously, but know what really happened. (Which brings me to another point - if you've served, chances are you have known some parents of soldiers you served with who needed to know how they lost their sons. I tell them the truth, that he was a hero). So back to the deceased, you feel the warmth leave the body rather quickly and to me, the soul seems to fade with the stoppage of blood flow. This seems to happen really fast as your mind races and the adrenaline is kicking your ***. Then the blood coagulates.
Ugh, too gruesome now. Sorry for rambling.
Sorry you asked? too soon? -

I hope the irony is not lost that this has now become a topic on a Miami Dolphins fan board...as well as many other message boards across the internet, as well as newspapers, blurbs on radio shows and television as well. The goal was essentially met by the person that commited suicide. They have been able to reach out and communicate with more people in their death than they seemingly could in their life.
Mission accomplished.
The part that is overlooked is the suicide itself. Mainly because it happens to many faceless people every day. The video, putting it online, puts a face and thus, a life to it. Makes the person human instead of a statistic, which most of us will brush off.
Sure, in a few weeks, or even days we will have forgotten about this and moved on ourselves, but would this even be a story if they hadn't put it online?
Most likely not, not unless someone knew the person personally and decided to share, which again, brings about the human element of the tragedy.
The saddest part is, that once this becomes even MORE prevelant (and it will), our jaded selves will become calloused to this as well and thus, it will begat even crazier stuff to occur.texasPHINSfan and King Felix like this. -
Anyways, I think what you see when someone/thing dies is as open to interpretation as spirituality is. Obv the known scientific facts apply.texasPHINSfan likes this. -
People in this world are searching for, by and large, two things: acceptance and understanding (which are two of the main components of 'true' love). When they don't get (or feel that they are getting) those things, it leads to some very negative thought patterns.
I've been there, and so I really understand and feel where these kids are coming from and what state of mind they're in. Yes, they a looking for attention, but it's far more than just that. They've lost a (huge) chunk of their soul, usually from a series of occurances, and they don't feel there is anything out there that can get it back or fill the void for them. The message is: Death is less painful than living.
The cam is just their (final) way of communicating that pain to others as it is usually difficult (if not impossible in some circumstances) to do so through traditional means. It can also serve as further motivation to carry out the act if they are hesitant (which they usually are) through the comments of trolls and the twisted logic of "Well, it's live now, so I'd better go through with it or I'd just be disappointing more people in my miserable, disappointing life".
Tragic, simply tragic. :pity:
All I can offer is my condolances to the family and friends; and that if ever any one of you needs to talk to someone who's been there at the bottom of it all and come out the other side, I'm here for ya-just send me a PM.texasPHINSfan, alen1 and King Felix like this. -
This stuff fascinates me.
And I can't imagine being present at someone's death and NOT becoming deeply philosophical about it.
Would love to discuss it further. Perhaps via PM or phone if it's not too heavy for you to re-visit.
Like I said, it fascinates me.texasPHINSfan likes this. -
