    Alright, I have seen and read all the comments on this board regarding Kyle Orton and the prospect of our beloved Phins trading for him. However, I am here to say that perhaps he is not the option at QB that we should be pursuing.

    Vince Young was released by the Titans as expected. Yes, I know all the concerns that have been thrown around about Young, but I think he would be a better option at the moment than Orton. I have read all the numbers that have been posted by Orton the past couple of season including his 41 TDs to 21 INTs. I have also read about Vince Young's unimpressive TD to INT ratio. However, I must point out that Orton is, I believe, 32-29 in his career and Vince Young is something like 30-17.

    Point in fact is, this FO needs to win and they need to win now in order to keep their jobs. While I believe that both Kyle Orton and Vince Young would give us a better opportunity to win now than Chad Henne would, I think that Vince Young would be the cheaper option with more upside than Orton.

    The way I see it. Vince Young is a winner and always has been. Besides that, this FO is in "swing for the fences" mode and I believe Young give us the highest homerun potential of the three possible QBs. Although I am a bit troubled by the character concerns, I think its fair to say that this regime is not as strict on character concerns as they once lead us to believe. At worst case scenario, if he loses the competition to Henne he could still be used in the wildcat formations as opposed to Orton who would become nothing more than a signal caller if he were to suffer the same fate.

    Finally, I know all the Vince Young naysayers will be quick to point to mental stability. While it is a valid concern, I would counter that argument by saying that for the majority of the last two season or more Vince has been bombarded with criticism by the fans and the Titans organization and amid all that criticism he returned to the lineup last season after Kerry Collins lead the team to an 0-6 start and proceeded to end the season on an 8-2 run with the same team. All this after he could have easily ran the rest of his career into the ground when Jeff Fisher decided to bench him.

    Not sure I ever saw that kind of response from Henne when he got benched in favor of Pennington for all of about three plays last season.

    I'd take Steve Young (in his prime) over Orton, but not Vince. VY has mental issues.

    As of now Vince Young wants to play for the Eagles, which means he wants to backup Vick, which means he doesn't care about starting or competing for a starting role right now. Don't want that.

    Orton was 29-19 heading into the last year .Its hard to win games with the leagues worst defense . I really do think that that little fact gets ignored way too much in todays game . You can get by with a top 20 defense but dead last man thats just about impossible . I just cant think of a successful team with the defense finishing last in the last 10-20 years .

    Young is trying to rebuild his career no team would hand him the keys before he shows he is stable again. It will be 2 seasons before he gets a shot again .

    no surprise , consistent winning team makes a prudent cost efficient signing ... taking some risks that have big upside isn't a bad thing ... oh and all the people saying the jets sold the farm and used all their bullets being all in for the last 2 years were right i guess ... or not actually ... tannenbaum maybe kinda knows what he is doing you think?
