His entire college highlight package seemed to be circus throws. Off balance, unrepeatable trick shots. But when I watched him play, I was never impressed with his ability to make normal throws or just play QB in a stable, controlled way. That's why I'm glad that the Jets have him, because I think that he's going to bust.

I do think he's talented and I can see the excitement around him, but I don't know if plays like that wins ballgames. The above clip is a 50/50 ball to a well-covered receiver. I think the bigger question is, should that pass have even been thrown? Those types of plays will lose as many games as they win.Unlucky 13 likes this.

I mourn the fact that that style of play has seemingly become the dominant one in college football, and what's worse, is now sliming its way into the NFL as well.KeyFin likes this.

I mean, if you're down 7 late in the 4th quarter and it's 3rd down and long, then yeah....sling the rock and cross your fingers. But it's not an every-down type playstyle you build an offense around.resnor and Unlucky 13 like this.

I don't know about that. The WR had separation. It looks like a normal deep ball throw. The only difference his he has a pass rusher coming right in at speed. He needed to keep his eyes downfield and focus on the throw despite the incoming Mack truck.
