Don't know if this is the right forum since he's not a Dolphin. (well IMO he stil is) Has anyone heard anything about Zach? Is he just sitting around, trying to find a team or what? I haven't heard his name mentioned anywhere.
The last two news items that mention Zach in October. Former Dolphins great Zach Thomas has filed a grievance against the Kansas City Chiefs for his 2009 salary for cutting him without an injury settlement after he suffered a concussion early in training camp. http://www.topix.com/forum/football-players/zach-thomas/TTLNBFMLVRH3HNMLJ Katina Taylor, sister of Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas, has filed for divorce from defensive end Jason Taylor, claiming in court documents that the couple's marriage is 'irretrievably broken.' http://www.topix.com/forum/football-players/zach-thomas/T9SR71STPBBNUJ9TE I didn't know he had a concussion with the Chiefs in camp, he should stay away from football now, he has nothing to prove.
I thought JT and Katina were still married? Most of the comments at that site were dated in '07 & '08.
there it is: a royal pain in the head & a pain in the *** for our Dolphin Brother-in-laws (just another walk in the park, a day @ the zoo, the way things happen & remember: things change) here's hoping the marriage holds & Zach returns in some capacity to our team
That's what I thought. But darn felly, I thought he might be single. oops, I'm not single tho'. That just slipped my mind some how.
all's well that ends well now, how to hook Zach up in some capcity with his team? I'm thinking in the coaching cadre. who knows LB's better than Zach?
It would be great to see Zach, in some capacity with the team. It's just a shame he and JT couldn't finish their careers as Dolphins together. They were just about the only ones that I had any hope in for many years. They were the face of the Dolphins during their time here.
Im asking for one thing and one thing only. And Im thinking about starting a petition or something in the offseason. After everything, EVERYTHING that Zach has done for this team and this city, he deserves to retire as a Miami Mother****ing Dolphin. Am I oversimplyfying this? Because how hard can it be to sign a guy, not A guy but arguably THE GUY for the past 10 years or so of this team, for a 1 day contract to "officially" retire. He said the moment he left the team "I will always be a Miami Dolphin" Yes you will Zach, yes you will.
I feel very badly for Zach that things haven't worked out for him after leaving Miami. As Mari0k suggests, Zach needs to retire a Dolphin. I hope the FO will give him that courtesy. Teams do it all the time. I remember being at a game in Buffalo where the Bills did it for (I believe it was) Darryl Talley.
No more playing football for Zach. Too many concussions. Not worth the risk. But this is a guy who used to watch a lot of film, and as a result, he always knew where he had to be at every game, on every down and distance, and his tackles figures proved it -- he perennially led the team. That kind of mind is perfect for coaching -- if he can break down film for himself he can do it for others. Pennington has exactly the same kind of head. I hope the powers that be can recognize that in both of them.
