Offense Blows, but “D” is Dominant

Somehow, someway, Miami is 2-2 at the quarter pole of the season.  Somehow, someway, that record is actually BETTER than last year’s mark of 1-3 through four games.  Unbelievable.  My fiance and I took her mom out to dinner on Sunday night, so I didn’t get to writing a blog on Sunday.  Then the Chris Foerster video happened.  Straight out of ‘Ballers’ or, if you remember the short-lived ESPN series, ‘Playmakers’.  Absolutely unbelievable. Now, as I sit here on Tuesday having full taken in the events that transpired late-Sunday and into Monday, Miami’s got a trip to the Atlanta...

Running Back Into the Race

Jason Lieser, who covers the Dolphins for the Palm Beach Post along with Joe Schad tweeted this out on Wednesday: “Based on talking to Mike Pouncey today, sounds like running the ball is Plans A, B & C for the Dolphins this week.“ To me, this is the right mindset to have for the Dolphins going into the game against the Titans this weekend.  We all remember how Jay Ajayi burst onto the scene last year against the Steelers, though there were signs in the Bengals and Titans games last year that Ajayi was on his way out of...

Dolphins Dreary In London

Today wasn’t quite an ordinary day.  My fiance woke me up at 6:45 today and I was able to catch the start of the Arsenal v. Brighton & Hove Albion game.  Dare I say, for the Arsenal, they’ve looked pretty good in their last 4 EPL games, which is shocking giving the buffoonery that Arsene Wenger is capable. of.  The Gunners won 2-0, and after the game we celebrated our pit/lab’s 6th birthday.  She went with her mom and sister to go to a craft show for the day and I was able to throw together some eggs and...

Rough Landing

My old high school coach had a saying, “It’s better to be the hammer, not the nail.” Well, today Miami was the nail and got hammered by the Jets 20-6.  There’s not a whole lot you can really say about this one.  The offense couldn’t get ANYTHING going for the second straight week in the first half.  This is becoming a disturbing trend with Adam Gase.  I’ll cut him some slack for now as it’s only the second regular game with Jay Cutler.  But Cutler looked like the one that frustrated Bears fans; not the one from last week...

Week 2 (1): A New Beginning

Hi everyone, you may recognize me from the forum as I’ve been a member here since December of 2007.  Ken (3pmi) was kind enough to give me the opportunity to be a blogger for ThePhins.com.  You’re probably familiar with me from posting over the years and I know there are some who will remember that Travis, (Aqua4Ever04) and I had our “Phinalysis” podcast last year as part of Perfectville, a site that Chris (Sick) and Sam (Samphin) run.  Life comes at you fast sometimes and while Chris and Sam still have Perfectville rolling right along – seriously, check out...
