They were trying to trade a 2nd round pick and a lightly used Taco.

So were on the verge of losing the second top 5 rated draft pick we were extremely fortunate to land? Is that what's happening with this franchise? We "know" Minkah is a top talent who proved it on the field last year with us and b4 that with Bama. We "think" Flores is a good coach b/c his game plan held a high flying Offense to 3 points in the SB. Well the cheaters held Big Ben & co to 3 points last week without Flores.
The coach who shall not be named says Minkah is the best defensive player he has ever coached(and that's saying a lot), but somehow these coaches have him on the sideline for large portions of the game? We run a multi scheme defense but they get rid of a young productive DT in V.Taylor b/c he's not a scheme fit? I'm really getting an adam gase 'I am always the smartest person in the room' vibe from Flores. Not good. Not good at all.
It was payback. Not from something "we" did to Harbaugh but based on his comment you can guess which(classless) team he's talking about:
@jamisonhensley
John Harbaugh wanted to address the Ravens going for the fake punt when leading the Dolphins, 35-3, in the second quarter: “We’ve been in those games before, on the other side. That’s not a complaint that you have. We’ve had a fake punt on us run with 35-plus on us."
One silver lining to this anticipated horrible season? Cam Wake having a very good year thus resulting in perhaps maybe another 3rd round compensatory pick. He's off to a great start.
Unofficially he was credited with 3 total tackles, including 2 for losses, "4" QB hits and 2.5 sacks. Yes, we all know his sacks come in bunches and in some games he's m.i.a. But here's to hoping
this year will be the exception and he consistently gets multiple sacks in most games.
I'll follow Wake's progress throughout the season. He'll always be a FIN in my eyes.
Cool brother, there's nothing wrong with healthy debates.

Eve if they do translate to a high 2nd and a 3rd, plus Clowney...we could get a "good enough" tackle in 2020 and still come out of this smelling like roses. I think that would be tough to pass up no matter how you look at it.
Like I said, I've screamed louder than anyone here to "fix the line with quality players" for the past 15 years. I DO NOT want to see Tunsil go but at the same time, every player has a value. Is Tunsil worth more than Clowney plus one of the best tackles in college football (late 1st rounder) AND a top 7 college guard (2nd or 3rd rounder)? My answer to that is no...as amazing as Tunsil has developed, he's not worth that much to us.
If they throw in a 2nd or 3rd rounder....or that young linebacker Miami really wants...I would take the deal. Then we'd need to draft 1 or 2 defensive pieces to be fully stacked on that side of the ball for the next 5+ years. That is how dynasties are built....
KeyFin, we have one of the best LT in the NFL already and we we're extremely lucky that the gas mask/bong vid leaked. There's a chance even the top tackle in college football next year may not translate his game to the league. But Tunsil has and that is a known. I thought the whole purpose of talent acquisition is not only identifying but keeping it as well.
Anyway this trade discussion should soon become moot b/c:
@AaronWilson_NFL
One league source informed of Jadeveon Clowney's thinking reiterated that he remains adamant he doesn't want to play for the Miami Dolphins regardless of the trade discussions between Texans and Dolphins

@McClain_on_NFL
Clowney hasn’t signed his tender cause he doesn’t want to play for Miami.

Umm, I think I'm rooting for this deal to go through all of a sudden. We'd get Clowney, a 1st rounder to replace Tunsil next season, and another high pick or starter? I almost think I'm on board with that since we'll be horrible this year anyway.
Do I want to see Tunsil go? No- heck no! But if the Texans are going to overpay then it would be hard to turn down with our "Moneyball" strategy.
A HOU 1st rnder most certainly will be a late one, meaning it will seem like an early 2nd(prospect ranking wise). And if they throw in another "high pick" it will probably be the following year(2021). So let's say it's a 2021 2nd. I think any contending team in need of a franchise LT wouldn't hesitate to give up basically 2nd & 3rd picks for him. In my opinion it would be a steal in their favor.
One thing is for sure. If Grier trades Tunsil that means he's all in, at any cost, on Tua the lefty. The RT becomes the blindside protector. And if this is the case then I really don't know what to say about Grier as a GM.
Jadeveon Clowney willing to miss regular-season games
"Jadeveon Clowney planned to report to work this week . . . until he learned the Texans planned to trade him. Now, the Texans pass rusher is ready to take his holdout into the regular season."

Good. Let him continue to be a distraction for them(HOU). Look, how many times does he have to say he "prefers" SEA or PHI for it to sink in? By rule, the F.O. shouldn't even waste time entertaining the thought of bringing in anyone who doesn't want to be here.

off topic - I can't help it but when I look at Rosen I see the actor who plays the hilarious douchy character "Todd" on Wrecked. Which was frickin canceled a few days ago btw.
At 1:38 there's a trick WR pass and the TE gets behind the defense. Horton goes for the pick gets out-muscled & misses. Recovers and strips the ball carrier and then falls on ball in the endzone for a touchback. I mean, who does that?
I know, I know, this is just one play but....
▪ ESPN’s Todd McShay, speaking about Rosen before last year’s draft, said he had reliable knowledge that “Rosen can be difficult at times,
question authority at times. Does he love the game? Does he need the game? You don’t want to draft Jay Cutler. All the scouts in the building,
there’s concern about who he is as a teammate. I get a lot of Jay Cutler type reports . But then you put on the tape, especially USC-
UCLA game and very clearly Josh Rosen is more polished . “

So we give up "2" picks for this poor attitude qb? Look, you can have all the talent in the world but if your teammates can't stand you how much success will come your way? Especially in the most team-oriented sport? Plus once again we bidded against ourselves. grier got punked.

Wait, did you actually get those results? Who's big board were you using? The only realistic outcome here is Haskins at No. 13, but only due to recent reports that he's likely to slide on draft day.
Rashan Gary, Erik McCoy, Johnathan Abram, and Ross Pierschbacher in consecutive rounds is just silly. Gary is a lock for top-25, McCoy has a shot to be the first center off the board, Abram's stock has blown up and he's expected to go on opening night, and Pierschbacher is widely regarded as a 2nd-3rd round prospect. Would be the greatest draft of NFL history if it somehow played out like this.
I know right? I used the most up to date big board but you can see how shocked I was to see all of these top prospects available in later rounds. Can you imagine if we were to come close to such results?
