I usually don't watch the combines. I wait til it's over and then go from there. Even then, I wait til FA gets started somewhat to see what our needs more than likely will be come draft day. But it's OK to do it if you like but I just don't have that much interest in this part yet.

Jimmy graham made a lot of money today...

6'7..265 lb's...4.58...looked fluid with easy hands..all on a body that is built exceptionally well.

 

Navarro Bowman can flat out run.

what a stride he has. WOW.

 

Campbell is a pure workout warrior...hopefully he goes in the top 10..

Jimmie Graham is soo darn enticing, 6'6, 4.58....nice.

FWIW the CFL folks loved...Trindon Holliday...that 4.33 speed and his size make for a potent dude on those wider fields.

I was seeing some film on him working out to run the 40.

My guess is that he is going to go sub 4.5

he does not fit with our scheme AT ALL though.

he is a 4-3 flex player. Alot like Darrin Smith.

 

BTW..my guy at the U nailed it on Jimmy Graham...although he was off on his time. He gave me 38 Vert (he jumped 38 today) and told me 4.65.

he ran a 4.57

too bad all I can get is Cane info...LOL.

 

I know he doesn't fit our scheme, lol. I'm a PSU fan, so I was interested in his time if they showed it is all.

 

How about Dennis Pitta? 6'4" 245. Ran a 4.62 had 27 reps at the bench and a 34" vert. He has great hands and is more of a pass catching TE. But you have to figure with 27 reps on the bench he has enough upper body strength to block effectively as well.

 

Dickerson is a little light at 226 but he looks like he could put on 15-20lbs and still create matchup problems all over the field.

 

Or he could be moved wideout with that speed. Just saying...

 

If it is true that the coachs are really looking for a recieving TE i would really like to see Dorin Dickerson, Jimmy Graham, Ed Dickson, or Anthony McCoy in Miami next year Dickerson is going to be a hell of a player IMO as a pass catching TE. He will create so many mismatchs for the defense with his 4.40 speed that is ridiculous for a TE to run that speed the big thing with him is his Size at 6'2 around 225 pounds but the guy did play LB at pitt one year so his toughness isnt a question. But if you play him like the Redskins play Cooley or the Colts play Clark or the way the jets play Keller he would be a very Special pass catching TE and not to mention he is faster then Cooley, Clark, and Keller.

 

If he is here i think he would be used like Dustin Keller, Dallas Clark, or Chris Cooley. which is what we need in a TE i think we are good with TE's that are blockers

 

if he does, he'd make a helluva FS as well. ;)

 

I wonder who would create the better mismatch: The 6-2 4.4 Dickerson or the 6-6 4.5ish Graham?

 

Gresham IMO. There's fast DB's and some as fast LB's in this league but there aren't any that are 6'6".

Jerry Hughes- 6-1 3/4 255pds (inch shorter than I thought he would be)
Everson Griffen- 6-3 3/8 273pds
Terrence Cody- 6-4 354pds (down about 16 pds from the senior bowl)

 

I believe he was 6'1'' at the senior bowl

He also played WR at the Senior Bowl. I'd split him out a lot like Dallas Clark, though I don't know if I'd put him at the boundary often.

I know right. Dennis Pitta is the guy I want. Would hopefully fill the David Martin role.

 

To a..point...what I really want to see is more swashbuckling BMF's drafted, just barabarians who can dominate a game..

 

The TE most here seem to be overlooking is Ed Dickson. Regardless of what he runs, this guy can play. When I watched him in 2008, he reminded me of a young Keith Jackson...the TE, not the announcer.

Guess the reason he isn't talked about much is he didn't play back East, such as in the Big Ten or SEC. :sad:

He gets a seven inch head start in the 40 at his Pro Day and that's been his biggest question mark. I don't blame him, though I know it is disappointing for some. I also think he passed on the LB drills because his hips are not fluid.

 

IMO he's not physical enough. Doesn't take on blocks well. He's a read and chase linebacker IMO.

You know, hopefully in a couple of years when they put in the rookie pay scale, which I think is long overdue, maybe less of these guys will be so quick to pass on the Combine drills. I don't think it will hurt any of them as much as not competing at all does. These scouts and teams have already watched countless hours of tape on these guys and they pretty much have their boards set before this. They have already seen if a guy can play or not before this, which is what really matters, so really, what is the harm for them.
