Well, seems to me that every league tries to match the NFL's Draft Coverage, the NBA is not exception, though no league has really matched the intensity of the NFL version wherein even 7th rd picks are argued over amongst fans.

Mock drafts:

One of the stranger aspects of the NBA draft process is it is not unusual for Top 10 picks to not play for their drafting teams for several yrs, in the NFL that is unheard of, in the NBA it is standard fare, the only other league that has a process similar to that is the CFL, MLB has a 1 yr window to sign a drafted player, the NHL has a shorter deadline iirc, the other odd thing about the NBA's way of approaching the draft is a player who stays until they are even a Junior is deemed as not having been good enough to come out after their freshman season, which is one of the reason I consider the NBA rather short sighted, it is all about premeire athleticism and not athleticism+experienced and ready to contribute, so the game is sort of dumbed down to take advantage of the athletic talent and not so much scheme and basketball skills like hitting free throws are handling the ball by non pg's.
As for the draft class itself, I suspect some team will be quite happy other teams passed on Brandon Knight of KY, PG's are sort of the engine of the NBA, big men sort of pay the rent.

Other leagues also train up their draftees in their organizations if they do not play quickly, in MLB or the NHL they have minor leagues, the NBA takes guys who are on other teams in other leagues and when they finally do arrive they start over at -0-.
For example if a Franchise wanted Rubio to improve his 3 pt shooting, they could simply make it known to him, while he is on another team in another league whatever his perceived weaknesses are simply will not be addressed until he plays for the NBA team.
That is how we see spectacles such as the 1-3-1 zone befuddling the most physically talented players in the NBA, they have not been trained to deal with it and won't be trained in how to defeat it until they have to in NBA games. -
Well it never used to be like that. Think back to the great draft classes of the 80s. What has happened since? Players coming out after graduating high school as well as the growing international pool has dilluted the youth movement with talent. You've got international leagues where these players can play, or sit on the bench in the NBA... and where are the American developmental leagues?

Cant wait to see where my boy Marshon Brooks goes. Whoever gets this kid, gets an NBA ready player.....Fin-O hearing alot of Knicks love for him....hearing Cavs are interested in trading back into the mid-late 1st for him too...
First Providence College player going pro since Ryan Gomes....we little Rhody folks get excited for this stuff.... -

I like what I've read about Valanciunas, I'd just prefer someone who can play next season. So long as they don't take Vesely.

The last time Bucher was right about something was when he signed his last contract with ESPN and remarked "I actually get paid for this?"

First of many I think......

Bucks get Beno Udrih (from Sacramento), Stephen Jackson, Shaun Livingston, and the 19th pick (from Charlotte).
Bobcats get No. 7 from Kings, and Corey Maggette from Milwaukee. (so Bobcats have #7 and #9)
Kings get John Salmons and the No. 10 pick from Minnesota.

Gerald Henderson of all players got Larry Brown fired, Brown wanted him in the NBDL and the FO disagreed, Brown was very old school. -
Erving went #1 overall..no surprise...

Whichever team drafts Selby is going to be horribly disappointed. -

Norris Cole to Miami. Just hand us the damn trophy already.
I mean, how many current NBA players have a flat top? -
I had said for the last two days that Norris Cole would be a great pick for Miami. Now it's looking like we are sending #31 and a future 2nd round pick to MIN for him. I think it's a good move. He's actually one of the better pure PG prospects in this draft. With Chalmers & Bibby free agents, I think this pick makes a lot of sense.

Personally he was 3rd on the players I wanted...was hoping for someone with size like a Vucevic or a true 2 like Marshon Brooks. Also loved Selby (Melo wanted him since he grew up in Baltimore and knew him).
