I'll likely begin roster compilation in the coming weeks. I need to figure out a way to do this so I am hoping that USA Today posts the 2010 salary database and we can work from there similar to last year. I've given up hope that NFLPA will give out player salaries like they have in the past. You need to be registered to their site and I am assuming you need permission with that. I have found the link to the search, but I am locked out of it.

I'm probably sitting this one out guys. The GML coincides with my busy season at work, especially March and April and I'm trying to switch firms. If that happens, I'd definitely be too busy to put the time and effort I like to put into it. Hopefully this will open up some new GM's to give it a shot and maybe keep some of you who don't like my approach (you know who you are) in the league.

just wondering. would anybody be interested in maybe doing a keeper league. Basically it would be the same as it is now except for the fact that you keep the team year to year to year instead of always starting over. You could really see how your team grows year to year.
Not even saying to change this one. There is a certain hyper trading environment created by this style that is pretty cool but maybe we could run two of them either simultaneously or back to back?PSG likes this. -

I'd be down with that. The problem I see is picking teams. If guys don't get team(s) they really want/like it might be hard to fill.

well the way i figure it, is after a couple of years the teams would be completely unique. you may start with the Browns but after two or three years you probably would have a roster that's 75% different.

I'm not sure about the keeper idea, although it is great in theory, I don't think it would be able to generate enough consistent interest. Already in this league you have long dead periods of inactivity where it is impossible to get anything done. People lose interest over 4 months, I can only imagine what it would be like over several years. Plus, part of the fun, for me anyway, is to take over a new team every year.
I mean if most of the regulars end up doing it, I might, but right now I am satisfied with the GM league and our keeper fantasy football league.adamprez2003 likes this. -

If you get it going I'd be interested in trying. It's something that has been brought up over the years but it will only work if you don't allow in the people who come and go. I'd be interested in how contracts would go year to year. If you cut a guy with a 5mil contact and I sign him for 500k, but the next year his real contract is 7mil, do I have to pay 7mil? Do you allow multi-year contracts? That would be hard to track. Pulling team salaries would be fun. I'll bet the turnover for most teams will be more than 75% in ONE year.
