Still no OFFICIAL confirmation from RG3 camp.
also, still no word from L. Jones camp -
- January 3
- (4:00 PM): AC Pack LB to enter draft … North Carolina State junior LB Terrell Manning has signed with an agent and will be entering the 2012 draft. The 6'2", 235-pound Manning is considered to be a mid-round prospect.
-
Way too many Canes on that list....ugh
-
Both Iowa junior OT Riley Reiff and Sanford junior OG David DeCastro have confirmed that they are leaving school and entering the 2012 draft. Both are projected to be top 10-15 picks.
Meanwhile, Virginia Tech junior CB Jayron Hosley told reporters after the Hokies OT loss to Michigan in last night's Sugar Bowl that he will entering the draft.
Same for San Diego State sophomore RB Ronnie Hillman who has also said he will be declaring for the draft. The 5-9, 185-pound Hillman isn’t all that big but has been very productive rushing for over 1,500 yards in each of his two seasons at SDSU. Hillman was reportedly told by the NFL’s special draft advisory board that he could be selected round the third round in April's draft if he left school early.UCF FINatic likes this. -
I didn't realize Sanu declared, but just saw confirmation that Alshon Jeffrey (WR, South Carolina) declared for the draft.
-
Havent seen official on Jeffrey yet, but expect it....

South Carolina junior WR Alshon Jeffrey and CB Stephon Gilmore have announced they plan to enter this year’s draft. The 6-4, 230-pound Jeffrey is considered to be a mid-first round prospect for the upcoming draft, while Gilmore is a likely second-round candidate.
Michigan State junior DT Jerel Worthy is the latest underclassmen to announce that he will be entering the 2012 NFL draft. Worthy is projected to be selected in the mid-to-late part of this year's opening round.
Meanwhile,Wisconsin junior RB Montee Ball has confirmed that he will be returning to school or his senior season next fall. Ball ran for over 1,900 yards this season and tied Barry Sanders all-time single season TD record with 39, but was projected as only a potential 3rd round pick by the NFL's special draft advisory committee, in part because Ball lacks breakaway speed. -
Brock Osweiler will come out early, Landry Jones is staying at OU.
Osweiler goes to the head of the Tier #3 guys no?
Behind Russell Wilson but ahead of Ryan Lindey?
And Travis Wilson submitted his name to the advisory cmte -
Who's Travis Wilson?
-
-
There are unconfirmed reports that Arizona State junior QB Brock Osweiler has decided to pass on his senior year of eligibility and enter the upcoming draft.
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech junior WR Stephen Hill has announced he is bypassing his senior season and will enter the 2012 draft. The 6-4, 210-pound Hill only caught 28 passes this past season in the run-oriented Tech offense, but led the country with an average of 29.3 yards per catch; still, he‘s not considered to be more than a late-round or free agent prospect. -
Bernard Pierce (RB, Temple) is going pro. I saw him play a couple games the past three years, and he seems really talented to me. He didn't have the best games against stronger competition, but I wonder how much of that was his blockers just not being able to get it done. If he timed out well, I wouldn't mind if we looked at him on day 3 (if he lasted that long).

and...
- Wisconsin junior C Peter Konz has reportedly decided to leave school and enter the 2012 draft. The 6-5, 315-pound Konz is considered to be the top C in college football and a possible late first round pick this coming April.
-
David Wilson, HB, Virginia Tech is going pro.
-
It's official. Brock Osweiler going pro. Unless Tyler Wilson comes out, I probably want Brock more than any other QB who I expect us to have a chance at. I still wouldn't mind Tannehill either though.
-
-
-
-
Alright Tyler Wilson. I picked you months ago to be a surprise entry are you going to do it or what?
-
Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College and Lamichael James, RB, Oregon officially going to the draft.
-
-
Dwayne Allen declares.
-
Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss
Edwin Baker, HB, Michigan St. (had a much better 2010 than 2011 since he handled the load in 2010 and split it this year)
Both these guys going pro. -
Oregon junior RB LaMichael James has announced he will be entering the 2012 draft. James ran for over 1,800 yards this fall despite missing a couple of games with an elbow injury, but could last well into the second day of the draft as he isn‘t all that big at just 5-8, 185.

....I know they have to 15th....but no OFFICIAL from RG3 is still very interesting is it not? -
Three more underclassmen including Clemson TE Dwayne Allen, Mississippi OT Bobbie Massie and Michigan State RB Edwin Baker have announced they will be entering the 2012 draft.
Allen is considered to be the top prospects at the TE position this year and could get some later first round interest, while Massie and Baker are more mid-round prospects, although Massie has intriguing size and athleticism and has the potential to move up during pre-draft testing.
Meanwhile, Florida State junior CB/KR Greg Reid has reportedly decided to stay in school for his senior season next fall.
Underclassmen have until January 15th to file paperwork with the NFL to be eligible for the upcoming draft.MrClean likes this. -
Yay for Reid staying.

I know this would be overkill, but if we did this we would have a dominate offensive line for the next 7 years:
Take Riley Reiff in round 1 and then Peter Konz in round 2.
Jake Long - Peter Konz - Mike Pouncey - Richie Incognito - Riley Reiff -

Konz may not make it to our 2nd rounder, but if he did that would be a great choice, though I'd consider making him the C and Pouncey the LG.
There is some additional logic though to get the OT first, because by any measure, Colombo was worse than Carey, and a guy like Reiff could also be the backup left tackle, and the team could even consider if the line would be stronger, if perhaps in 2013, flip flopping Reiff and Long. Ending up with a line such as Reiff, Pouncey, Konz, Incognito, Long. If Konz is gone by the 2nd round pick, Ben Jones would be a viable alternative. Or if we go QB in the 2nd, then take a guy like Philip Blake in the 3rd. Blake could also play C, and allow Pouncey to be the LG. Blake was Baylor's center, and is a much better shotgun snapper than Pouncey, and I think we ought to more consider that as a key element in the center's repertoire. One could say Pouncey's poor shotgun snaps were a fairly significant cause of the Dallas loss.
There were also a good number of shotgun snaps this season which were above Moore's head and he had to extend to catch them. IMO, too often to be acceptable. The shotgun snap should be drilling the QB at about the belly button 95% of the time at least. Sternum to waist range anyway. It seemed to me RG3, seldom had to move his hands at all to take a shotgun snap from Blake. They were nearly always dead on the money. This is important in a C, not a secondary area of focus.UCF FINatic likes this. -
What do you think about both Riley Reiff and Jonathan Martin? I have never really seen Reiff play before but I love Martin. I was initially tempted to put Martin there instead of Reiff, but I have seen Reiff as our pick in a lot more mocks.
