C'mon down Ryan Jensen. The Miami run game will be serving all you can eat pancakes all day Sundays and Monday and Thursday evenings at stadiums nationwide

I’d like to see us get James Conner at RB a young good visioned Pass blocking running back. He’s not going to break the bank for us either.
I think we should resign gesenski to a fair deal and see how much he can improve with a focused offense. I’d also like to see us go to a two TE formation a lot more. NE killed the league with two good tight ends.
A stud wide receiver to go along with waddle and no sorry Parker needs to go he’s had his chances here we need fresh legs.
maybe buy two OL positions for leadership and draft one for the future.
If we can hit all those pieces in offense I think we have a top 10 offense and if we can manage to help the defense out with a few key players I think we have a top 10 defense next year.
If that happens we may be a wildcard playoff team next year!!dolphin25 likes this. -
The bottom line is that at least one, if not more, will try it. I doubt we go that route, but maybe we can take advantage of another team trying it a little more clumsily than the Rams.
I definitely want us to come out of FA with a higher-end WR and at least 1-2 linemen. With Flores and his trash offensive staff out the door, I have less desire/need to see the most elite OL like Armstead, I will be content to let McDaniel and his staff decide on new talent. I strongly suspect we look OL early in the draft as well.dolphin25 likes this. -
Disagree we can't and haven't build an OLINE through the draft in 100 years it seems. When we did get one good p[layer they traded him out and filled with subpar projects.
We need to just BUY 2 stud Lineman this offseason and draft one. We can't afford to "Teach em up" by the time that happens all our defensive players will be gone and we will be again upside down. -

I say good riddance. Gesicki is too one dimensional, and he's not even elite in that one dimension. Never did anything special here even in a contract year. He's not worth the price tag.
We should have taken Mark Andrews (an actual tight end) instead of Gesicki in that 2018 draft.

I like Gesicki but he has limitations as a tight end. It'll be interesting to see if he returns but I think he's more replaceable than most Dolphins fans seem to believe. Coach may already see potential in Long that might mitigate the loss of Gesicki.

I’d be happy if we signed Tomlinson so we could move Jackson out of the NFL. Then move Liam to RT to see if he has any chance of being ok or if it was another bad pick by Grier. Then sign best available LT.
I agree that we need another WR to pair with Waddle. Parker can’t be counted on to play a full season. Not sure I want to unload a Brinks truck for Adams or Godwin but maybe a Mike Williams would be a compliment to Waddles game so we have a bigger, physical WR.Dorfdad, Pennington's Limp Arm and dolphin25 like this. -
New coaches have a tendency to want to bring in a couple guys they are familiar with (‘There guys’).
We saw Grier was MORE than willing to do that with Flores. Bringing in 3-5 patriot re-treads every year.
Given our complete lack of depth at RB and OL and the fact McDaniel specialized in the run game In SF….. I would have an eye on the following FAs;
RB; Mostert, Hasty, Jeff Wilson
- none of them would be expensive for various reasons (age, injury, inexperience etc). So if McDaniel really liked/believed in one of them…. There isn’t anything to stop us from signing that player.
OL ; G Laken Tomlinson, G Tom Compton.
- Tomlinson would be a big high profile signing. Compton more of a depth guy, but did start 7 games last year. -
Mike Williams plays too much like Devante Parker. More durable, I’ll give you that.
But similar strengths, weaknesses and skill sets. Would also cost a boatload.
Rather grab a more versatile free agent WR that can be moved around the field and capable of playing some slot.Mexphin, Ohio Fanatic and mlb1399 like this. -
I think a better plan might be to sign 2 primo offensive linemen. Like, let's fix this problem once and for all type deal.
I know it is early on in the mock process, but I do get an early read that there probably will be some solid WRs at the end of the first round. Interestingly enough, I think that these are guys that might really fit with what the staff wants to do (Olave, Williams, Dotson).
The risk of taking this approach is that theoretically all of these guys could be gone. If that is the case, I would have zero problem with taking Kenneth Walker III.
I think in either situation we begin to develop a clear identity of Miami Dolphins' football and a logical frame to build out our offense.Phil Hutchings likes this. -

If we are targeting weapons, Ridley makes more sense imo, would be a nice pair with Waddle. I'd also look hard at Burks and London in the draft, but I suspect both are gone by our pick.dolphin25, JJ_79 and Pennington's Limp Arm like this. -

Give me one of these: Devante Adams, Michael Gallup, Godwin, Mike Williams or if Amari Cooper gets cut. Draft Christian Watson with our second round pick. Draft Oline with our first. Sign a big free agent olinemen as well. Sign either Melvin Gordon or Ronald Jones at RB. Draft Brian Robinson out of Alabama. Dolphins would be fun to watch next season.

No one is going to argue that hitting on draft picks is the best way to build a team, but as long as Grier has the GM job we have to face reality.dolphin25, Mexphin, mlb1399 and 1 other person like this. -

Always been my mindset at your most important positions you hire talent. Yes you can coach them up and that’s fine when you have 1-2 spots needing fixed and have capable people in place currently.
We have neither our line is average at best and we had no one to coach them up. So we need to buy a line and hope new coaches can train up some younger players to fill spots 2/4 years down the line -
