I believe the ending is a bit different. A lot of it is similar from what i've heard. I only saw pieces of the original so i cant say for sure though. -
I haven't seen it, but I've been tempted because it stars Christian Bale. He take those movies in the "worst movie thread" and make them awesome.

Excellent movie. Love Bale.
And Russell Crowe, what can you say? To hear about his personal life, the guy sounds like a jerk. But in front of a camera, every single character he plays seems unique to me. Too many actors seem like the same guy from one movie to another, or you see the actor's personality come through the person they play (i.e. Cruise, Denzel). With Crowe, I'm always looking through that character's eyes, whether it be Ben Wade, Bud White, Maximus, John Nash, Jeffrey Wigand, whoever. I guess I have to say I think he's one of the best actors out there. Bale's much the same. -
I thought it was a great movie.

As far as Bale is concerned, I've never seen him give a bad performance.
I think one of the single greatest performances in cinema is Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York. I now the movie isn't for everybody, but that performance is one for the ages.
I will say though, the most underrated actor in all of Hollywood is Danny DeVito. The man is a chameleon. I'm serious. For a man of such...um...unique appearance, he has range like you wouldn't believe. Look at the range he displays between: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Ruthless People, Renaissance Man, Batman Returns, and Get Shorty. It is flat-out incredible. -
Right now you really can count on one hand the people in Hollywood that are actors (and are not just carrying themselves through their charisma and charm) basically Daniel Day-Lewis, Cate Blanchett... ummm... Daniel Day-Lewis... Cate Blanchett... and ummm... well there's those two.
Everyone else is just not consistent, they'll do a great job and then mail it in. A great job and then mail it in.
As for 3:10 I just saw it. Fun movie, really fun movie. I feel like it will hang around for a long time as a fun movie.
