Douglas already looks like our best guard from what I read.

 

I've said from the beginning that we won't see the real Tannehill until year 5. Even though some people want to forget or pretend that Tannehill came in as a very raw QB relative to most, it is a fact. And any reasonable expectation would expect him to take longer to show that comfort and ease with the position that only comes with experience. Now I believe that the Tannehill we saw last year was already a good to very good QB, but I don't see last year as his ceiling. I expect that this year we'll see another jump in his passing. That's been the focus of his development and where I expect to see the most progress continue. I think we'll also see a smaller improvement in his decision making with regard to running. Then in year 5 we'll see both elements come together and we'll have a good indication of the Tannehill we'll see during his prime.

 

I see him as a perfect fit for us as I said after the draft. IMO "fit" is one of the most determinate factors in a lineman's success. It's not about throwing first round picks together. He has things he need to work on, but he phenomenal raw strength and above average mobility. You put those tools in the right system and I see his odds of success as very promising.

 

I hope the WR corps pushes the secondary to become better individually and as a unit.

I think this is the year Tannehill really explodes on the stage. Generally speaking, the year after a QB proves that he belongs, his play goes up even more. I think its due to confidence. Until last year, Tannehill had to prove himself. Now that he has I think we're going to see a relaxed and confident Tannehill, one that knows all the plays, knows all the receiver routes, knows all the defensive schemes and one that's going to let er rip as he starts picking apart defenses. This is the year, Tannehill is going to start getting comparisons to Rodgers IMO and start nipping at the heels of Luck as best QB of that draft class

 

He also played a high number of snaps per game at ASU. His mobility in regards to pulling is tantalizing. As a left tackle, they would pull him all the way over to seal past the right tackle.

 

I'm hoping he reaches that point where things slow down enough that the game starts to look easy for him. Rodgers started to show that in his 4th year in the league, not to the level he's at now, but it started then. Before that the game did not look easy for Rodgers. People mocked the comparison, but Tannehill's third year didn't look all that different from Rodger's 4th. People just didn't get to see the Rodgers that was struggling in preseason games and spot duty or hear the reports of his struggles in practice during his first three years.

 

I want this to be true so bad.

Completely agree. I think too many people just expect too much of players early in their careers and get too hung up in stats. What you want to see is constant improvement. Sometimes its the little things that dont show up on stat sheets but are vital to long term success. Have to say you have saved me a lot of posts this past year. I would come to a thread, get ready to say something, then read your post and realize you said everything I was going to lol. We havent always been in agreement on QBs but with Tannehill I think we're on exactly the same page
