Basically telling us everything we already know. Still an interesting read.
-Allowing Jared Odrick to walk in Free Agency
-Failing to address the Interior Offensive Line
-Sticking with current playmaker core
-Refusing to add veteran presence to locker room
-Ignoring the need for a Nose Tackle

Solid article. The small blurb about players with colorful past was something I glossed over.

I think the title should be changed to "5 areas The Phins wish they could address but won't be able to Afford This Offseason"
- addressing the need for a NT and keeping Odrick, may not be able to do both
- addressing the #2 CB position is pretty high on my wish list
- addressing the OLine is the #1 need IMO -
I notice the article is by Ian Wharton. I've read a few pieces by him now and rated every one of them. Starting to become a Dolphins writer I pay attention to.

I hope we address the oline first dline second, linebackers third , cb fourth , and runningback 5 but not necesarly in that order.

A NT in a 4-3? I'm assuming he's meaning someone who can play on the interior, play two gaps/blockers, and still get penetration.

I really wouldn't mind Shelton either, hes bigger then Goldman, but Goldman is know to be a good player at stopping the run. Shelton eats up space/blockers though. I think Miami has their eye on Shelton right now too.

Letting Odrick walk is not a mistake, paying him would be the mistake unless he's willing to accept something like 4 million per season like Earl Mitchell. He's not that good.

Yeah he going to tear it up alright. He and his 1 sack, 29 tackles all season long. He is to our defensive line what Hartline is to our receiving corps.
Earl Mitchell had 33 tackles and 2 sacks.
Someone post some advanced stats of these two players if you have them with you, for you can see how barely of a difference there is between them.
Jared Odrick is not that good, and that is why some want to draft a DT in the first round.
4 years 16 million just like Mitchell is the highest we should go, some team wants to give him 6-7 million or god forbid more, he can leave, we won't miss a beat.DeDolfan likes this. -

I like Wallace but he is an overpaid one trick pony, Odrick is a guy that can do a lot for our D, and there is a reason he is in store for a big payday. -

Reading the article title, I was half-expecting a blurb along the lines of:
"Number 4 will shock you!"
"NFL GMs hate him!"
"You'd never guess number 5!"

I think the OL will be ok with the people getting healthy and playing in their correct spots. I would not mind signing 1 vet guard to make it more solid.
I'm thinking DT right now.shamegame13 likes this. -
I just pray to god they don't make the mistake of extending Mr Average (Tannehill) this offseason.
-
-Let this year be a 'prove it' year
-If we miss the playoffs, I imagine the coaching staff is gonna get fired in this situation, let the new HC decide whether he wants to keep RT17 or he might want his own guy that will fit his system better, no point in handcuffing the next HC if we dont have to -
My prayer is that you anti-Tannehill people get your wish, and we don't extend him this year, and then next year he plays lights out, and gets a massive payday.

Be nice if this staff could actually develop Ant Johnson... He flashed a lot at LSU, just wasn't consistent. We also still have Deandre Coleman and Kamal Johnson.
Considering Kamal Johnson's domestic violence and other issues in college, I'm surprised he's still with the team at all.
