They won by 5, I predicted 6 which makes me happy. A win is a win which makes me happy ....but...
-Missing field goals
-Henne under throwing Marshall
-Marshall dropping a key pass
-Carey repeating the mistake that got Long hurt and not being fast
enough to contain his man to the outside.
-Fasano not knowing enough to get out of bounds just before the 1/2
-not utilizing all the WR's
-Dan Henning calling a foolish reverse
-Culver blowing his coverage assignment (resulting in a TD)
-Henne not being mobile
and finally....
-calling predictable "run only" wildcats that produce 3 yards. If the
wildcat isn't unpredictable - why run it?
WE made waaaaaaaaaaaay too many mistakes for us to beat Minnesota next week. I was expecting better from nine months of player, coach and scheme shuffling. (but I'll take the win)

It was Carroll who blew his coverage assignment, not Culver.
The sky isn't falling. We showed some good things, but also had some first game problems that can be fixed over time.... like many other teams!
Be happy with the win, just enjoy it. We are tied for #1 in the division right now.
We will be fine. -
Considering we don't know how good this team is yet, I don't see myself disappointed.

"A disappointing win"? More like a disappointing thread.
GTFOH. For some people, nothing is EVER good enough. Thanks for looking for ALL the negatives in the game. Your perspective is lacking to say the least. Why didn't you mention how god-awful our defense and secondary looked while you're at it?!! :shifty:xphinfanx, Ohio Fanatic, xer0 and 5 others like this. -
I didn't even see Carroll on that play you guys are talking about

How do you do a negative star? I really really want to negative star this thread....

We dominated the game, the score didn't show that. We need to pull in those int's, and Henne needs to connect on those long passes. Our Wrs need to do a better job too tho.
But gods...i dont think i've seen that good of a dolphins defender since JTs mvp season...with Dansby. The guy was running with Lee F'n Evans, and covered him well enough to force a bad throw.
What he and Marshall add is just not measurable. Henne needs to get better. I have had his back for a while, and put it on the WRs... but he does need to get better. He may.Dolphins1Beatles and FasanoPaisano like this. -

Was frustrating watching Henne, with plenty of time, not being able to find an open receiver. I realize Buffalo`s secondary is probably their only strong point but still it was nerve racking at times. All in all it was a divisional opening day road win so we might as well take it and move on.

Cobra, you probably should just not watch next weeks game. The mistakes that we'll end up making during our victory will be ghastly. :shifty:

No game is going to be perfect.....
To steal the words from Herm.....YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!
That is exactly what we did. When we are in the playoffs your not going to look back and think wow that was an ugly win against Buffalo.....your just going to see it as another win that helped us get a shot at the superbowl!! Just like your going to look at the win next week against Minny!!!! GO FINS!!! -

I'll take a disappointing win over a great loss anyday and twice on Sunday and for all the Henne naysayers you do realize that the Bills pass defense was rated second best last year, right? You do remember last years game with its 3 INTS, right?
Get real guys it was a great win on the road over a divisional foe!

Nothing disappointing about it. We are 1-0. Some players need to play better next week to win in Minny and they're more than capable.

Is this thread some sort of inside joke us older folks aren't privy too? Because I dont get it. We won the game. The defense we were all talking about looked awesome minus one bad play by culver and we won our first game, on the road over a division rival.
One could only hope to be this disappointed every game for the remainder of the season. -

A wins a win. I dont care if its one point or 500.

First win in Barfalo since 2003 and we don't have to go play them when it's freezing. I will gladly take this win.
-
Well, I guess you certainly put me in my place.
I meant what I said and I really don't care how many 14 years olds out their in their mommy's basement slam me. This team cannot make this many stupid mistakes and beat Minnesota next week.
I don't recall saying that we won't improve, or that all is lost. I call it a disappointing win because we are supposed to beat the Bills - they are a horrible football team. Minnesota is not. If we miss field goals and drop wide open passes next week we will lose.
A win is a win and I'll take it, but you need to take some humble pills and WATCH the film. The minute we are happy with our numerous mistakes is the same minute we will never make the playoffs
