You know what really weird honestly I have a feeling either thigpen or whoever the backup becomes will be the future QB for the Dolphins for the next 3-4 years.

    Weird but I feel it.

According to Josina Anderson for Fox 31 sports, the Dolphins who were almost forced to bring Dan Marino out of retirement to play quarterback today have contacted Russell to schedule a workout.

I remember Brandstater at the 2008 senior bowl. He played well there. Ireland scouted him. He reminds me of Drew Bledsoe; tall lanky guy with a strong arm.

  23. Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Not that simple. If he filed his retirement paperowork with the league, he would have to apply for reinstatement, which I don't think he would be eligible for until next year...?

Now, if he is just a simple free agent with plans file later on...then he can be signed outright.

You think we can pull a reverse-Culpepper with this dude and get the Raidah's back? (assuming he is not 350+ lbs. right now)

I wouldnt worry too much about it. He got a tryout with the Redskins and couldn't land a back job to Donovan McNabb.

If J. Russell becomes our QB I think my 35+ years as a Phin's fan will come to an end. Either keep Thigpen in there, draft a decent QB next year, etc., but we don't need a 290 pound piece of $%#@ as QB.

So you want to finish the season with only 1 healthy QB on the roster? Drafting a QB next year does nothing for us now. We may need to sign two QB's. I'm not a Russell fan but there's only so many options.

The one thing Russell proved in Oakland was that he is not an NFL QB. Signing him would serve no purpose what so ever. Perhaps the Dolphins could contact Kurt Warner and see if he is interested in playing out the season. He is no longer on DWTS and I assume he is looking for something to do. You never know. Maybe Warner is tired of being retired and would like another opportunity to lead a team to the playoffs. At least it would be worth the phone call from the Dolphins to find out.
