I was about to post this. I actually like Aikmen. Hopefully he brings a good perspective to the new GM search.

 

Thank goodness! Mostly because there will be a GM search, not just hand it off to Grier's pick. We need fresh blood in the front office. We need someone who views OL and DL as priorities.

 

Exactly it signals they will finally do a through search and having that guys opinion in the room is a good thing

 

I like this move. It's good to get an objective, outside view. He has no emotional connection. He has good contacts around the league. He's a HOF QB who's been a big part of a very successful franchise in his time. Some of Grier's cronies are probably still in the organization. Good to get a fresh perspective without any of Grier's stench possibly lingering. It's giving the team a lot of light, showing they're serious about the search and the future of the team.
