This just showed up on SI's site:
It came from Sparano's hometown newspaper so it could carry some weight:

i thought his interview was on monday for some reason
-
nice find! we'll see.
-
Minnesotta's D Coordinator has in interview on Monday, but Sparano's was today. It's not really a suprise if it's true, seems like some smoke and mirrors for the Rooney Rule, gotta CYA.
-
I also found this on it:

If it is true and I were the Dolphins, I'd deny it too. Otherwise there would be hell to pay for not following the Rooney Rule. -
I believe it.
We all knew Sparano was the likely coach. We will put it off so we can interview Frazier. -
I don't think the Rooney rule dictates to whom and when the job is offered
the problem might be if Frazier decides not to interview because of this report -
-
-
if Frazier gets bent, then we will just bring in Bowles or Carthon
-
Peter King just said he thinks we get him on NBCs postgame show. -
If this is true, PFT is going to have a field day with this. Lets hope they still go ahead with the interview with Frazier.
-
Peter King should have cited the New Haven paper report
what a jerk -
PFT needs to get a life if they have an issue -
-
Ok, now lets focus on O-coordinator and D-coordinator.....
-
P.S.
the guy the Tuna really wants is an african american, so the old boy network works for all races
if a guy can coach he will get the job -
-
-
-
i would really like ryan to be the d coordinator
i really like what tuna is doing, shaking things up and getting tough nosed guys to bring in -
not exciting, but we need an OC to avoid Sparano getting bogged down with play-calling a la Cammy -
I think Haley is still under contract with Arizona as their O Coordinator, so we can rule him out unless it's as HC.
-
I wonder if leather-face can stop us from hiring Bowles as our DC?
-
I don't know too much about Palmer as far as being an OC. Anyone have any more news on this guy?
-
Sparano was probably offered the job before Parcells accepted the Miami job so this is no surprise. Cant wait to see who is being brought in for our positional needs. If we get Ryan as DC I'm going to kiss the fattest ugliest broad I can find and spread the love

A Dallas paper is now stating the same thing. Sparano has been offered the job and accepted. They said that after they meet the Roony Rule requirements on Monday, they could announce the deal.

Thanks Nub, good job. Well, looks like it's unofficially office until after Monday.
-
Good find Nub. This things growing legs, stay tuned....
-
now we need Rex as our D-Coach
right now we are becoming the Miami Cowboys -
Growing legs and I wish someone would break the legs off the story concerning MEshawn coming to Miami for any other reason than to enjoy the weather this time of year.
-
I hope the team can keep it all under wraps until we interview Frazier. I don't want to hear the media go on and on how we didn't abide by the Rooney Rule.
-
Well said, it's strange that after a 1-15 season, we could feel so positive about the direction of the organization. Now if the impatient ones will give it time. News Alert, we probably won't be in the super bowl or playoff's next season, maybe or maybe not the season after that, but good times they are a coming. :ffic:
