Why not? Bush gets 15-20 hand offs, not to mention screens, drags, out routes....and marshall getting 8-10 catches a game. Thats 30+ right there.

15 handoffs is not that much in 4 qts of play.

 

The start of the season is going to be very important for many reasons. A slow start will be very hard to overcome. Wins will get chemistry flowing fast.

 

Its to much for Reggie IMO. I see him raking him 200 or so carries in 16 games IF, and that's a big IF obviously, hes able to stay healthy all 16 games. He is to valuable in the passing game to give him 15-20 carries. If he were to get 20 total touches your talking about him getting 320 touches. You think that's obtainable? I certainly don't and shouldn't be.

 

I could see him getting 15-20 touches... 15-20 carries may be a bit high at this moment. However he may prove himself to be a fulltime back this year, who knows...

 

Brandon Marshall's 21 receptions + Bush's 6 receptions & 13 carries = 40 touches per game.

I agree. 8-10 carries, 5-8 receptions = 13-18 touches, that's a good number for him. Not b/c I fear he'll get injured, more b/c IMO that's the best way to use him. Let Thomas and LJ slam it in there for the tough yds, they're better built and better at it. Marshall should be averaging 10-12 targets /game, add it up and yeah we're talking about close to 30 touches.

 

Historically, Bush has gotten roughly 9 rushes/5 receptions per game over his career. I highly doubt that varies with Miami. I still think he averages somewhere in the 10 rushes per game area, with his receptions probably increasing by a catch or three. Bush does his best work in the open field, and I think Miami exploits that against opposing defenses.

With that, I think Thomas and Johnson become the veritable two-headed monster when Miami wants to run out the clock and maybe hold onto leads. The good thing is, Miami now seems to have an offense that can at least put points up on the board. I'd like to see more TDs out of this offense when it's in the red-zone.

I am also a little worried about this defense's coverage of backs out of the backfield. We've seen a couple of plays this pre-season where a back has caught a ball and has gone for good positive yardage. Miscommunication or issue?

 

That's is def. BEASTMODE. Every Sunday IMO that would be fantastic.

 

I expect that Bush will get 10-12 carries and 8-10 targets per game and I expect Marshall to be targeted 8-10 times per game so his numbers aren't unrealistic. I also don't see that as an unreasonable workload for either player.

 

i would suspect Bush to get ~ 15 touches and Marshall to be targeted ~ 10 plays a game ... game dependent of course -- but a decent planning factor.
