Wonder what the asking price is?

With his age, and often being injured, partly due to his agressive playing style, I don't know what I would give up. He probably has 4-5 years left. I would send them a third, buts thats probably all I would do.

I had no idea he is currently carrying a partially torn MCL and High Ankle Sprain into the playoffs.
As mentioned, his style equates into mucho injuries over the course of any year IMO. -
-
I also think at least 5 teams would easily give up a higher 3rd than what ours is.
Only way we lock onto him, is offer a player they want in the trade. Problem is, once again were snookered cause I don't think we have anything they would want in trade......maybe Ginn, but I doubt it.djphinfan likes this. -

I honestly dont see it ever happening, but I guess it could... -
you dont replace ted ginn with boldin. you would replace pat turner with boldin if it was to happen. you dont replace speed with possession

I would trade Ginn and a third round for him, and for as far as speed is concern it doesn't mean anything when either you run out of bounds all the time or the defense knocks you down constantly.
-
Yea, let's trade a WR and a 3rd rd pick, for a 30 yr old WR who can't stay healthy and who wants $10M a year. Yea, totally makes sense.

30 years old + injuries + needs new huge contract = third rounder.
And I'll gladly take him for that.
He's still a Pro Bowl caliber #1 WR any way you look at it. It's a simple case of how many years does he have left in the tank with his style of play? Maybe 4-5. Good enough for me. -
You guys should go after Brandon Marshall. No use is wasting picks on a player that can't stay healthy. Anquan is great but he's made of paper.
-
Seriously, we're talking about a third round pick here. Boldin is clearly worth it.azfinfanmang and djphinfan like this. -

Even if he is only healthy for 1/2 the season, he is still 100X more valuable to the team than that third and Ginn combined....easily..... -
And Boldin healthy for half a year is not eaily 100x more valuable than Ginn and a 3rd. Boldin alone isn't necessarily 100x more valuable than Ginn (especially when you factor in 3x or more the cost), so you are really stretching it. -
And we are not talking about just a 3rd rd pick. We are talking about a 3rd rd pick and 8%+ of the salary cap. Even if there is no salary cap, you're still talking about $8-10M/yr, and a lot out of pocket for Ross right away ($25mill?).
Yea it's easy to say he's worth it when it isn't your money and all you have are dreams about how he will perform on your team. Boldin arguably hasn't been a #1 for 5 years, and has played 2 full seasons in his 7 year career. All those injuries will catch up to him on the field at some pt (likely within the next few years). -
Not on the Boldin train. Hes a guy that just seems to be declining, while wanting to be treated like a star.
When healthy, Ive few doubts he can at the least be a solid guy, but I dont know if he can transform a WR corps the way we need at this point. Hes tough as hell, but he gets hurt a lot, and even when he guts it out, it often affects his performance.
For the contract he is demanding, not to mention the need to part with picks and/or players, I just dont see it. We would be much more likely to try out Antonio Bryant, or even a second/third tier guy like Malcolm Floyd and then add to that via the draft.
