Anyone else look at the remaining sked?
After the Bye
Jets
@Chargers
@Rams
Niners
@Ravens
Cards
@Jets
@Bills
Patriots.
So other than Patriots and the Bills to close out the season, none of these teams have winning records.
Would have been helpful to beat the Titans at home, but DAMN! that's a winnable schedule. It seems like 2008 over again with a weakish NFC West to face.
Chargers and the Rams on the road is a concern, do you even fly back to Miami after the Chargers game?
9-7 is perfectly reasonable, if not 10-6.

I think they already said they were planning on staying on the west coast after the Chargers game. I agree the schedule is better for us over the next 7 games but the Chargers are playing better and the Ravens always give us some trouble.

Truth is, no one knows what's going to happen week to week in the NFL but that's a pretty Dolphins friendly remaining schedule.Tin Indian likes this. -

The team still has a lot of issues on defense. And if one of our o-linemen goes down to injury again, we may see us revert back to earlier in the season with regards to production, as we have no depth. But given how the season has played out with regards to our schedule, assuming we stay healthy, I like our chances of improving on last year's record. Adam Gase seems to be getting better with each passing week, changing his offense to suit the personnel of the team, as well as the play calling. It is the first time in a long time that a lot of us think the long term outlook for the team, is healthy.dolfan7171, Tin Indian and GARDENHEAD like this. -
It's ALWAYS a mistake to assume teams will continue at their current state of play. Fans here and all over do it all the time. How many of us said the Bills were one of, if not the worst team in the league after week 2? Then they rattled off 4 wins. Look how bad these Dolphins were, but they just beat 2 quality teams. Sure looking at it now bodes well. But this team has already proven it can lose to the worst of teams, so even if these teams keep playing like crap, none of the games are gimmes. They will have to stay healthy (especially on the O-line) and Gase will have to keep things moving in the right direction. Not trying to dampen any optimism after a great win, but I think fans get too excited after a win or 2, and start building hopes up to unreasonable levels. I've been fooled too many times to fall for it. I'll keep watching 1 game at a time expecting the worst and be pleasantly surprised if Miami overshoots my historically low expectations!

The NFL this year is basically a mess of teams that aren't really that good. Moreso than usual. Outside the Pats and Vikings, it's just a a low of flawed, inconsistent teams so far. Things will probably separate, but at the moment it's hard to get a read on lots of these squads, ours included.
I think we go 9-7, with a loss in SD. Preseason I had us 10-6, but the adjustment to the new coach has been a little slow. That home loss to the gotdamn Titans could be the real killer come a playoff push. Just an unacceptable performance that week. Anyways, as you'd expect, people overreacted to our first 4 games: new coaches, new schemes, 3 road games vs playoff teams with one on a short week...what did you expect?? -
They don't have a winning record!?
WE don't have a winning record! LOL
If the line stays healthy anything can happen.dolfan7171 likes this. -
The Rams could give us some trouble. Despite having a crappy QB, they have a hell of a running game. The Cards will be difficult too, and I don't see us beating the Pats.
-
Depends if the Pats have a First Week Bye locked up by then. Remember last season? Dolphins often beat the Patriots at home as well.

The Bills demolished the Cards. Scored 6 against Seattle last night in an extended game? I think the window has closed on them.

If our starting 5 stay healthy, I have no fears about any remaining opponent...we can literally run the table. The part you have to realize is that we didn't play mistake-free football yesterday...not even close. It was an average performance and we still dominated. We've yet to see our best.dolfan7171 likes this. -

Just because they dont have winning records does not mean theyre bad teams...
Jets alwaysgives us trouble.
Rams, Cards both have strong defenses with a ridiculous pass rush. Ravens is no gimmie, Chargers isnt a gimmie.dolphin25 likes this. -
I didn't even know we were building a shed...
Hope it's ready before the Pats game. So we have somewhere to take them.dolfan7171, Finster, MonstBlitz and 2 others like this. -

i feel like an "easier" schedule is exactly what the Dolphins love to go into and lose. They're pros at reeling me in and destroying me. I am remaining on the side of "They'll screw it up" until they're at least over .500

I think this season is going to be a lot like the 2013 season. IMO, we're going to be in position to make the playoffs if we win something like 2/3 of weeks 15-17, which are all going to be division games, two of them away.
That's when we'll see what this team is really made of.dolphin25 and DolphinGreg like this. -
However, Rex Ryan has an 8 year history of playing the Dolphins twice per year. The Bills are not an entirely new team either. Referencing the recent past in regards to how well we will do against them this year is totally legit. Now, will we sweep the Bills this year? Possibly, but due to the records of recent years, among other things, it's doubtful. -

How do we match up..and play next game.
I like to break it up into 4 , 4 game quarters. We are 2 and 1 in the second of four. Need to win the next one , which gets us to 3 and 1. Need to go 3 and 1 in both the 3rd and 4th
..that gets us to 10 and 6...unless my math is bad which I fully admit may be the case...my math sux -
after last year I am done with predicting, we were supposed to be 6-0 before the Pats Game

Offensive line health is the biggest single key to this team being successful. Past history shows that it will be difficult to keep them on the field together. -

Remember when we looked at the schedule for the last two weeks against the Bills and Jets, after beating the Patriots? Only needed one win to get in? Yeah.
The only gimme there in that schedule is the 49ers. Division games are always tough, toss ups with the bad teams, less of a tossup with the good ones. Chargers might drop 30 on us. Ravens look bad but they always seem to give a good run at it. Cards only scored 6 but that was against Seattle's D. They also kept the Hawks to 6.first&goal, dolphin25 and btfu149 like this. -
It's a pretty favorable schedule but I'm still not seeing anything over 8-8. Would love to be wrong but we rarely sweep the Jets, we rarely win in December in Buffalo, winning on the long road trip to San Diego against a better than their record suggests Chargers will be difficult, Rams aren't a pushover, we generally struggle with Baltimore, Cards are a tough team, Pats are the best team in football, and hopefully the Niners game is a gimme.
