Many of us were upset to see JT sign with the Jets last season, and I guess if I think about it there have been some other players we've not been happy about, when they signed with another team. But jeeze, the comments Smith received on his Facebook page from Giants fans for his signing with the Eagles are really really bad. I don't care how much someone hates another team, but what was said to him was totally beyond the pale of acceptable human conduct.
The comments are so bad, if I tried to copy and paste them here, they'd end up being mainly a series of asterisks.

The most surprising part is that it's Steve Smith they're crying about. If it was Derek Jeter I'd (somewhat) understand their knee-jerk reactions. My favorite one was the "F you steve, I hope you miss an entire season again and end up selling crack in compton next year."

I mean death threats are what not are always uncalled for ... But, if I was a Giant fan, I could totally understand the frustration. Despite the fact the guy might miss half the season, to see your hated, hated rival, whom has already had the "most amazing offseason ever" pick up a guy who has been a big part of your team ... I'd be pissed too.

I mean I know that Philly has the worst fans of any team in pro sports, with Jest fans coming in a close second, but I never realized how close Giants fans are to those two teams. What a bunch of classless a-holes. I typically hope the Eagles go 0-16 every season, but this year I hope they go 2-14...those two wins coming against the Giants with Smith having career days both times. -
The Giants are forever endeared in my heart after that Superbowl victory. F their fans.

All teams have moron fans. The Giants had PLENTY of time to sign Steve Smith. Most Giants fans I know are pissed at the Front Office, not Smith.

Steve smiths knees weren't cleared by the giant doctors and that as well as the fact the eagles were willing to pay smith about twice what the giants were is what caused smith to leave.
Nothing worse then Philly fans, even jet fans. I went to a nyg/eagles game in Philly wearing a giants jersey....I wore a rain slicker for all the beer I knew would be thrown and an umbrella on a bright sunny day.
It's pretty classless of any fan base to talk like that though. -
I was thinking about that the othe day, and I remembered the commercial... "envoy it for another year ~ Eli" and I got a bit choked up actually. That was my favorite moment in all of sports....I'm and Eli fan for life....
