Yes, Ricky circa 2001. No to Ronnie.
-
I miss Ronnie, he was better than anything we have right now.

I always liked Ronnie, wish coaches would've used his receiving skills more.
-
Cameron did, Ronnie was the second best running back in the NFL 2007 till he tore his knee. He was having a monster season, stats were ridiculous. 602 rushing on 5.1 yards per carry, and 389 receiving yards and 10 yards per catch all in 7 games. A healthy prime Ronnie would do wonders for this team.. Hell, those MJD rumors earlier this year would have helped if they were true..SICK likes this.

I don't think there's a been a post more worthy of a fist bump since I joined here. Fitting that it gets my 2,000th fist bump.

As bad as Cameron was as a HC, man, do I miss the screen plays we ran that year. That was fun.
Other than that I miss Ricky in his prime. One of the best RB I've ever seen. As a pure runner I think he is an all time great. -
I'm missing coaches who treat the run game like a worthwhile pursuit, rather than an obligation one fulfills haphazardly and begrudgingly

I'm missing Tim Ruddy, Jamie Nails etc more.

Williams was a unique talent that would probably be getting decent yardage even behind this line..so yeah I miss him lol

Which essentially means missing the 2002 version of Ricky Williams. What a beast.dolfan22 likes this.

Definitely miss Ricky. Glad for what we had but also long for what we missed out on , so much more was there for him , and us.

Yeah I've said before I wish we could have had a QB comparable to Tannehill at that time, or a team comparable now. I can't imagine Ryan handing off to a back as good as Ricky was back then.

Well I guess I can imagine, I just likely won't see it. Lol

2nd best RB and #1 yards from scrimmage. Kid was a monster. -
Ronnie Brown would be an upgrade over D. Thomas

I think Lamar Miller could be very successful if we had a line that could consistently give him a crease to run through. But he hasn't yet shown the ability to take poor blocking and make something out it.
I thinking finding a back that can be counted on to get tough yards and pass block is going to be a priority this off-season. -
You'll know your answer if you see a "Do you miss Randy McMichael" thread pop up by the OP.

I often wonder why we let Reggie Bush go......and yes, I miss Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. We have 2 inept RBs
-
Nails from 02-03 was the best guard play I've seen to this day.

I'd certainly like the same kind of high-caliber, talented workhorse back in Miami.
Ricky Williams could have been a HOF back if his heart was into it, or he found the right opportunity. The guy just had a gift. The guy went from being a 250lbs. in New Orleans to playing just over 200lbs. when he initially came back to Miami, and went from being a pure power guy to a more finesse oriented guy late in his career.
Ronnie Brown had all the physical talent in the world, but I don't think he ever had the instincts to be a great back. The guy didn't make great decisions, and his power and short area quickness allowed him to turn what would be a bunch of 1-2 yard gains or negative plays into 3-4 yard gains. Once some of his physical skills declined, so did that, and his ability to be an effective ball-carrier diminished.
