Not very pretty stuff from the inside on Inactive Egnew.
I'll refrain from commenting on the guy who thought Egnew was a better pick than T.Y. Hilton and simply leave you with this nugget.

Is it a coincidence that this can be revealed now that Ireland feels secure in his job.

Now maybe Egnew, he should take this as a major league wake up call. -
If GMs continue to pick players who don't show work ethic and intelligence in the gym, their stupid..The mans body was underdeveloped, not something you could really see in college, starting seeing it when preseason started.I mean if your a Mackey award winner, and you know your gonna get drafted, and you don't take your craft off the field incredibly serious, your stupid, or ignorant, which goes for the people you surround yourself with..
Better get your sh&$ together son..you gonna blow taking care of yourself and your family for life, by playing a game..
Bad GM'n IF it doesn't work out...there was a considerable drop off from Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener, Ireland took the low road..that's not a good sign..oakelmpine, Canad-phin and smahtaz like this. -

Yeesh. Harsh words.

I think Ireland needed a full year with Philbin to understand what Philbin wants in a player and get rid of the last vestiges of Parcells stank off of his drafting tendencies. I'm going to guess there won't be a disciplinary problem in this offseason's draft or FA period. -
I guess Sherman wasn't kidding when he said he would cut him if he was GM

Ofcourse players need time to develop, but the ignorance lies at the people who think being inactive the majority of the season isn't an indicator.oakelmpine likes this. -
Definitely concerning, but does anyone else remember reading something similar about Reshad Jones a couple years ago during his rookie training camp? I remember an anonymous quote from a teammate blasting the guy, saying he wouldn't ammount to anything. I'd say he turned out alright.

I'll play the optimistic card here.
Maybe this report will motivate him this off-season to step up.oakelmpine, unifiedtheory, Pandarilla and 1 other person like this. -

As for Egnew, It's not fair to bash Ireland for every pick that doesn't pan out considering the average success rate of draft picks especially those past round 2. But when you've got a 3rd round player who is so ineffective and ill prepared that he doesn't even make it onto the field for a regular season game (save for the last 2 games), that's a clear cut failure in talent evaluation.
Factoring in the production that was given away in part for that pick, the pill is even harder to swallow.oakelmpine, Phins28 and gafinfan like this. -
If this is true then TE is probably as big of a need as WR, maybe even bigger.

Pretty daming article. I wonder what he did to his teammates to get thrown under the bus like that. Most times players just give standard responses when asked about teammates; "He's young, raw talent, works hard developing blah blah blah.." He must of pissed someone off.

If true, Finley has to be in play. I think he will have a big chip on his shoulders with how things are looking like they might end in Green Bay.

I said from the start Egnew looks like an abused kid who emotionally hates the violence of contact.
And I think that's what ****ed up his ability to play a violent sport.
