''The media did ask in print and on radio why not bring in a truly accomplished quarterback to compete with Chad Henne, with the loser of the competition becoming the backup. But noooo. the Dolphins went with journeyman Matt Moore. And now he's you're starter.
And the team has practically no chance.
The media continues to wonder why the Dolphins don't upgrade at tight end. Meanwhile, the Dolphins continue to wonder why they are so awful at scoring touchdowns in the red zone. Hint: Tight ends are among the most effective red zone weapons.
The media didn't get on that plane to go interview Jim Harbaugh. The media didn't cut Erik Walden so he could go to Green Bay and become a starter. The media didn't draft Pat White or Patrick Turner. The media didn't sign Ernest Wilford or Jake Grove. The media didn't fail to draft a quarterback in the first round since Dan Marino in 1983. The media didn't guarantee Bill Parcells' his money even if he walked away. The media has not kept the Dolphins winless at home for almost an entire calendar year.
The media -- along with everyone else in the whole stadium -- knows the quarterback draw is coming. The media didn't pass on Jimmy Graham. Or draft John Jerry.
If the Dolphins want to see the enemy they should turn their gaze away from the media.
And look in the mirror instead..''

i thought Armando was right on in the piece and I wish Bush would just stick to his guns. Does it hurt, yeah, but Reggie is right. Stink City

What disgusts me about this franchise is it's cowardice and unmanliness... REAL men step up and admit their flaws. They work on stuff. They don't try to polish a turd and sell it to you as sunshine, like this franchise does with its PR b.s.
I respect Reggie Bush for speaking his mind. It sucks that the low-integrity losers upstairs managed to put a bit and bridle on Reggie and made him talk insincerely.
An owner scared of losing money and ticket sales.
A GM scared of losing his job.
A coach convinced he will lose his.
And everyone willing to say or do whatever they need to to save face at this point.
How the f*** am I supposed to respect this franchise, much less be proud of being a fan of it? I don;t want to wear Dolphins colors right now. And they sure as s*** won;t see a dollar of mine either.
A complete embarrassment.. NOT because of our record, but because of the cowardly way the men in charge are showing their lack of character and accountability in the face of adversity.Aquafin, NaboCane, dolfndav34 and 9 others like this. -
So tired of this mess. It's one thing for us to suck, but for the love of god, we are the most awkward team in the NFL. The 1-15 season was nothing like this.. we just sucked then. Now we're the kid that plays pokemon in the back of the class with all his imaginary friends, and his only real friend is this guy:

TBH, if Henne wasnt hurt, I believe the Fins would have won against the Jets and Broncos.

He is wrong about Columbo, too. Columbo is not a turnstile. Turnstiles channel you into a lane, offer a little resistance, and cause you to slow down if you don't want to get whacked in the family jewels. Columbo does none of the above.

Salguero thinks he and the media have some great knowledge about how to run a football organization, well, why doesn't he apply for the job. According to him, if Ross, Sparano and Ireland has done everything the press said to do, we'd be undefeated right now...sheez....
I think Desides got it wrong, it's confirmed, Salguero doesn't know what a journalist is.... -
I think I can honestly say that Columbo has surpassed Benny "Air" Anderson as the worst lineman to ever wear the uniform. True Story.
Also, it says a lot when Armando is 100% correct in a piece. -
Armando is right on proving yet again that even a blind squirrel does indeed find and eat Jeff Irelands acorns now and again.
If only Jeff Ireland could find some himself. Darn squirrels. -
Is Salguero basically copying Omar Kelly's already awful 25 failures list?
-
At this point the local writers are
going to do their best to make everyone but the owner look bad, regardless of the facts. Comes with the territory. -
I think the team is doing a pretty good job of making themselves look badAquafin, NaboCane, SeanP and 1 other person like this.

Yes, this regime has made no errors. It's natural to be the worst team in the elague 4 years after you rebuilt the teamNaboCane, Rick 1966, ckparrothead and 2 others like this.

And CLE.....easily, right.....oh, nevermind!
P.S. this isnt a Henne knock, its a slap up the head to get everyone to understand this TEAM is bad....some individual talent...but a bad TEAM; badly assembled, bad fits, bad performance, bad Coaching, bad FO, bad Ownership leadership and tone setting, thus bad TEAM. -
-
Damn son, you just ruined that straw-man's ****! Care to actually address points I've made?
-
If you believe the team are the ones making the executive decisions.
-
only to the tiny portion of fans like us. to everyone else, they are doing a good job
-
What points did you address? That armando parroted Omar's list of mistakes that you don't agree with since you called it "awful'?
Well, I agreed with at least the premise of Omar's list, if not every item on it. -
If the team was winning no one would criticize them. Ireland and Sparano thought this was a good team. They were horribly wrong. End of story.
-
I've specifically said what items on the list I disagree with in the other thread. It's not at all an apologia of everything this franchise has done.

Two problems:
1. Who were these proven vets available this offseason? Donovan McRib? Matt "already on the Titans" Hasselbeck? Kerry Collins?
2. Had we gotten this mysterious proven vet, we might have won some games already. -
-
You know this because???
-
Because they put the team together?
These players are all "their guys".
Unless you think they knew they put together a crappy team, in which case their dismissal is even more warranted -
Who does "they" entail?
-
Parcells
Wayne
Ross
Ireland
Sparano the O-Line Guru and fist pump champion
Entire coaching staff
Players
Everyone associated with this franchise, back to the WanSpiel trade my entire draft to win now days
To pin this on the owner because he hurt Sparano's feelings is funny if you ask me. We didn't forget how to tackle or score points because poor baby Sparano went through a rough week when we considered upgrading the position with someone competent. -
When did I pin anything on anyone?
The reality is that Armando is taking the fact that we are a bad team, and using it as free reign to make assumptions that very likely could be false. There is a hell of a lot more to the equation than saying "oh yeah, Marc Colombo is bad. We shouldn't have signed him".Paul 13 likes this. -

I can infer from the above statements that you hold the owner responsible for decisions made by Ireland and Sparano. What do you mean by "they are looking to make everyone look bad except the owner" or "If you believe they are the ones making the executive decision" on the players we have selected? If not they, then who outside of the owner is responsible?
Yes, we could have handled the coaching situation better last year and yes, Ross is far from perfect... But let's hold the people resonsible for this mess.. Starting with Wayne and Parcells and their one year plan and ending with Sparano, his fist pumps and Ireland. -
I care as much about what Armando says regarding our team as an average Jets fan. If we were undefeated this year, he'd still find something negative to blog about. But to his credit he still has a job at the Herald, the same job he's held for the last what 10+ years, while other more talented journalists move up the ladder and go national. High five amigo...

I mean that Armando Salguero doesn't have the testicular fortitude to write anything negative about the owner, because the owner isn't leaving.
The reality is that a lot of people deserve blame. This includes Sparano and Ireland of course. But that doesn't mean they are responsible for anything that goes wrong. For all we know, we signed Marc Colombo because Stephen Ross refused to sign any right tackle to more than a 1-year, $2M rental. For all we know, they tried to sign other RTs, none of which wanted to come here. Armando's job is to investigate who was responsible for what and bring it to light. In this case, he's done nothing of value and just blanketed blame on everyone.
And this doesn't just apply to Armando. Everyone is going to do it. Its open season on guys that they will not have to work with in the future.
Absolutely agree that people should be held responsible. -
This just has the classic look of a Straw Man by 'Mondo.
Basically the players claim that the writers are trying to create stories, by taking quotes out of context.
But the vast majority of the article is about how the writers are not responsible for the 0 - 6 start and bad play on the field... but the players never seemed to have claimed that. And that is where the Straw man was constructed for 'Mondo to knock down.
Just a quick example from the article
So all the crap about "upgrading TE" and "QB competition", while true, isn't relevant to this PR move by the fins players and staff.
Just for clarity, I am not saying the fins are innocent in this I am just saying 'Mondo's counter argument is not really relevant to the issue being discussed, and thus a crappy argument :P.
Just my take on it. I could be wrong and welcome any thoughts others might have on the topic.
