Oh... well isnt that just nice. At least by taking the gun you could always go hold up a gast station and just steal your gas... two for the price of one i guess.
What an insane promotion though.. jeez

BTW, this isn't the first time a dealership has done this. I remember a similar deal back in the 80s with another car dealership, in Colorado I believe.

Who in their right mind would want a Prius? :tongue2: -
I'll take that used Charger and ahhhhhhh.....the second Assault rifle from the left.
I don't own a handgun and will not have one....(although I own hunting rifles)..but i really see nothing wrong with the promotion.

i guess you can get away with something like that in parts of Missouri.

It's not like those that weren't already considering a buying a gun, and just happened to be in the market for a car at the same time are going to drop what they are doing and buy into this?
This obviously is aimed at a particular demographic. If you dont personally fit that demo, fine, but dont condemn those that do...
Last time I looked at my Atlas, Mississipi is still in the US of A...and therefore the right to bear arms and selectively choose who you do business with is still a god-given right. -

Man its hard NOT to paint a stereotype with this nonesense.
By "stomp em" what exactly did he mean :sidelol::sidelol: -
Once again, what's the difference of this or an individual going and buying a new car, then driving it directly to "Guns R Us" across the street and buying a gun?
EDIT: BTW: It also doesnt mean that you shouldn't  (1/2 Full type of guy here) -
you have indifferent people that probably normally wouldn't go across the street to buy a gun who are figuring "well, its free.... why not?" and getting them anyway. HUGE difference.
considering almost half of all gun-related incidents are accidents, we're going to increase the sample size by handing out firearms? Again, just because the law says we can have them, doesn't mean we should be issuing them out. i am aware we have gun control laws, but they're relatively easy to beat. I'm not against that amendment, but i think we are too loose with our regulation of said law. -
-
just give them the gas voucher. -
Except for the last sentence which I have bolded. We agree 100% on this.
I own several guns, and I am a HUGE advocate of doing so. I would have ZERO issues with much more thorough gun controls mandate a scenario where:
I go to a gun-store and purchase a gun (Hand gun OR Rifle) and I am not allowed to take that gun home for...oh a month while a VERY thorough background check is done. -
And bushmasters should be banned IMO.texasPHINSfan likes this. -
i'm not saying we should ban guns.... if you're a gun enthusiast, more power to you. i've owned my fair share of firearms, and unlike many on this board i've actually used them for their original purpose. That said, i still don't think we should be motivating people who might otherwise not get one, TO get one b/c they bought a car. two completely unrelated things IMO.
If you're going to do promotions, keep some relation between the promotional items... that's not morality, just business. -
-
I just don't see the point to them then like you said to look good, and maybe blow the crap out of a deer. -

Bushmasters should be banned? Do you even know what a Bushmaster IS?
