    Great, tongue twisters.

Anything about Baker Mayfield yet, or are you just going to continue with the kindergarten theatrical?

Actually, you and Baker Mayfield share some similar qualities. I can understand why you feel like kindred spirits, and like the kid a lot. Makes sense now.

I think just from reading this thread that I've come to hate every QB in the draft regardless of how good they may or may not be. So I'm sticking with my recovering Tan the man and drafting whatever weapons/protection I need to best help him out, whether that's drafting OL and offensive weapons to pass to or defensive players to keep him off the field. Now I'm off to buy my #17 jersey.

This Thread is GOLD, the Drax references are hilarious (and perfect for the occasion, chapeau FinD!)

About Baker, I was curious: watching some video on youtube they (it should be a Waldman video, but maybe I'm wrong) underscored that he has a tendency to hop when passing and sometimes to not have his feet set when throwing, is it false? anybody else has this kind of concern?

Just a curiosity (I honestly haven0t watched NCAA football and for sure I am not guru)

miamis sticking with him too...outside shot they'd take baker at 11 if he got there as the 2 deep with upside...don't see them trading up for that skillset and size at qb...add baker you run a heavy rpo based offense but when dts can hem you in horizontally at the senior bowl it's gonna be real hard to gain the corner vs nfl speed. lesson he will have to learn unless he climbs the pocket and scrambles forward. do like the fact that he doesn't drop his eye level when flushed and I like his pivot and feet in the pocket

adding all these slots means miamis relying on ball placement and rac over other things at qb...it's not a coincidence that with tanny landry had a 12 plus ypc average. under lazor the offense was short passing game by design so throw out those #s...with cutler the qb couldn't execute to save his life...strike that was no longer willing to put his body on the line which made the execution horrid. no longer had the 40 yard no higher than 10 feet off the ground ropes off his back foot either in his back pocket which hid the poor foot work. shadow of self

  12. Nice. Never cared for it over there either. Well back to Mayfield...or perhaps more likely Tremaine Edmunds, Derwin James, or Quenton Nelson. Mayfield is a gamer and if he is there at 11 it seems like a fair play, given #17s injury and sometimes marginal output, but I doubt we move up to do it. Mayfield seems like an enigma and probably creates a wide spectrum of views amongst NFL personnel men. Love his angst though.

I’m not hostile at all, and quite the opposite actually. This is extremely funny coming from “you” and “danmarino,” since you’ve done nothing but attack/taunt, harass me, and make childish gibes for the last three pages of this thread. The difference between you and me is that you have been doing that for years on this website, whereas I have not. It’s a clear pattern.

But, you’re above all of that correct?

Would you like to take this to the moderation staff to satisfy any and all inquiries that puzzle you?

I’m an open book, and will oblige any questions that you have aimed at me under their direction and guidance. We can handle it through private messages, or simply make another topic about it for everyone to see if that pleases you.

    Your call...

Now you're quoting the same post multiple times to say more about it even a couple of hours later.

    Probably still a coincidence.

    Probably.

None of this would have happened, btw, had you not quadrupled down on being incorrectly literal when another poster was being figurative. Next time, just admit you misunderstood and move on.

I understood it completely, he lied about something and you swooped in to his defense (despite not being that person). What ensued was your passive aggressive insults, trolling, and typical antagonist quips. Like I said, judging from your posting history, you have been doing that same routine for years.

It’s interesting that you completely avoided the question posed to you, would you like to take this up with the moderation staff?

    Just simply answer that.

You didn't understand it and you prove it by continuing to call it a lie.

It was a figure of speech. It was meant figuratively not literally. This is why I've been doing the same thing to you throughout this thread, calling you a liar for things you meant figuratively not literally.

It was a lie, since not every single college student in the entire world drinks alcohol and gets arrested because of it.

Whether he meant it figuratively or literally is immaterial, since the typed word is the only form of communication on an internet message board.

Do you want to take this up with the moderation staff or not, Fin D?

Wow, you really don't know what figurative and literal mean.

Sure, by all means, go take it up with the mods. They'd love to hear why you're continuing to call Boomer (one of the most important and respected posters on this site) a liar. Its not like they've tried to convince him to come into the mains and share his knowledge with people outside of Club or anything. He's probably not pushed back because there's so much stupidity in the mains that someone would call him a liar because they don't understand the definition of words. I'm sure they won't look into you being an alt or anything either.

I know the distinction between the two words very well, and fact of the matter is he made a blanket and all encompassing statement that is purely fabrication. It’s solid balderdash, and then you have continually applied your own brand of circular logic and revisionist history for good measure.

His standing in the community has no bearing in how I simply pointed out that his statement is untrue and swiss cheese. I’ve moved past that, and apparently he has as well. Which begs the question, why are you so hellbent and hanging on my every word?

Would you like to take this up with the moderation staff, Fin D? I’m not hiding anything and will cooperate with any questions that are bothering you.

Feel free to private message me, and we can handle this appropriately, along with one of the moderating members.

I'm not so sure Denver are out of the QB stakes just yet. Keenum feels like a stopgap whilst they get to develop their young QB.

    It MAY just happen!

    McShay's Rd 1:

    1. Cleveland Browns — Sam Darnold, QB, USC
    2. New York Giants — Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
    3. Indianapolis Colts — Bradley Chubb, DE, N.C. State
    4. Cleveland Browns — Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama
    5. Denver Broncos — Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame
    6. New York Jets — Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
    7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Derwin James, S, Florida State
    8. Chicago Bears — Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State
    9. San Francisco 49ers — Tremaine Edmunds, DE/OLB, Virginia Tech
    10. Oakland Raiders — Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
    11. Miami Dolphins — Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma

If this happens I'll jump for joy.

I agree. And some of the scuttlebutt has been that John Elway is enamored with Josh Allen. Seems to be a QB molded in his image: amazing cannon, great scrambler and improvisation, and clutch plays. The accuracy is the big issue.

HUGE issue. I don't care how bad your teammates are, his opponents weren't great either. He is incredibly inaccurate and unproductive. I wouldn't take him in the first personally..

He lost most of his playmakers last year and that team was awful, but yeah I agree that is a big issue. That said, it can be coached up through system/scheme, practice habits and mechanics, repetition, and time.

He has ungodly talent, and I believe one of the scouts mentioned his arm is the strongest they’ve seen in the last 10 years. But again, will he overcome those accuracy woes? It will be interesting.

    So CAL
I was more talking about the qb position none of the top 3 are slated to take Mayfield and if that's a guy on the target must get list why not pull the trigger before buffalo does, that is more of what I was getting at.

My guess would be because Buffalo can easily outbid us and would because why wouldn't whoever we tried to trade to leak that deal. The only way we'd outbid them is if we torpedo'd our own draft in the process with the amount of picks we'd have to give up

    So CAL
that's why I said instead of waiting for the draft, they wanted landry why not combine him the 11 for the 4th or whatever it took, would be less damaging than its going to be draft night specially when they were going to trade landry anyways.

How many wildly inaccurate QBs do you see coached up to be accurate in the NFL? He is a huge project. And unaccurate guys don't tend to just become accurate. Kiss of death.

He is big and has a big arm. Josh Rosen has better arm talent. Sam Darnold has better anticipation. Baker Mayfield reads defenses better. All three of those guys are more accurate and have better touch than Allen. Being able to throw the ball extremely hard and far is what has made NFL bust after NFL bust. I don't buy it for a second with Allen.

Well, Matt Ryan would be one. I know they gagged in the Super Bowl, but I don’t think it’s too far off in saying he’s had a successful career so far. If memory serves me right, he was hovering around 59% CR in college. I mostly agree with you that there’s been more failures than success, but it’s not an impossible task.

I like Josh Rosen the best out of all of them, but the Dolphins don’t have (currently) the resources and capital to make that kind of move up.
