Great,
I just hope we run up the score and do a drop-kick out of Punt Formation just to show that smug **** up... :yes:HULKFish, gunn34, GARDENHEAD and 9 others like this. -

Hit the QB, even if you don't injure him (most likely you won't) you still hit the QB and make his body more fatigued going forward. I really don't foresee having too much success again against New England in the wildcat. Say what you will about BB, but he has got his team in the thick of the playoff race with a beat up, aging team that is relying on a backup QB who really hasn't started since high school.
The guy knows how to gameplan and I wouldn't be surprised if he sniffs out the formation this time around...and perhaps even throws it back in our face on the offensive side of the ball.GISH likes this. -

Couldnt Penny just fall to the ground the second he sees the defender coming for him? Or dodge him like a bullfighter? I think that would be a easy solution for that.. -

Knowing him he'll use it too.

First off Pennington is a gamer and whoever hits him may be in for a very unpleasant surprise. That defender may get knocked on his *** by penny and I really hate to think of what Ronnie, Ricky or what some other bruiser on our offense might do to that little db when we run a play or two right at him and send him off limping to the sidelines. I mean seriously could you imagine if a team intentionally took a cheap shot at penny how our entire team would react to that. What do they think Porter and Roth will do to Cassel in response to that. They could be playing the rest of their season out with their 3rd string QB.

I think they should be more worried about their QB's safety than the Wild Cat. Didn't we sack them like 3 or 4 times last time we played them. I mean we shut them down on D. They scored 13 points.
F*** the Wild Cat, you better be worried about Peezy.
Reading some of the posts after the article just goes to show you that BB and fans have about as much class as Pee Wee Herman. -

Your right, he could but I'm guess he wouldnt. Once you run out of bounds arnt you not allowed to reenter onto the field until the play is over? -
Simple, yet potentially effective. -

Remember how good Denver defended the wildcat? They were coming off a bye, and had the time to teach the defense to stop it.
The Pats are essentially coming off a bye, having played last Thursday. That gives them an extra 3 days to prepare. My guess is that the Dolphins bring a brand new bag of toys to this contest.
I just hope Miami isn't looking past this week to the Rams game in week 13. One game at a time fellas, one game at a time. lol.Two Tacos likes this. -

No doubt in my mind that Miami will show NE something completely different out of the Wildcat formation. The one time the Jets ran the ball out of the Wildcat on Thursday they gained 17 yards.

It's a road game.. at the rams. I'm almost overlooking that game and I usually don't do that.
And him and every other guy has planned a come back tour against our ST :( -
i do think we will see a lot of wildcat from both teams. this will be a test to see if it will work longterm. -
it's hard to tell sarcasm over the interwebz.

This is going to be our make or break game as for as I'm concerned. If we can come away with a win this Sunday it will give us the push we need to carry us thru to the end of this season.:yes:anlgp likes this. -
The article comments from the pats fans... piss me off:
I would go so far as to say they should risk a penalty and just have someone continue to smash Pennington -- even after the whistle. Giving up one touchdown would be worth it, because either Pennington could be knocked out of the game or they would hesitate to use the formation any more -

That's a real solid way to go about things...beat up Penny, even after the whistle as many suggested and that would solve the issues of them not being able to contain their gaps and open up running lanes for our guys....smart thinking...
In fact, they'd probably use the Wildcat even more if Henne were in instead of Penny...
The problem is, if they do knock Penny out of the game, who's to say that Henne can't come in and knock them off...afterall, they'll have no film on him and he certainly has a stronger arm ??
I know that is stretching a bit, but the fact is that wishing or purposely taking out another player won't give them the big advantage they think...
As much as I don't like BB and co., I think even he has more class than to purposely take out a guy...now, some of his players...I'm not so sure about...cough...Wilfork, Harrison, Bruschy...cough... -
if penny was trying to block, yes they can get physical, if he was running past the LOS on a route, yes you can jam him (and jamming him is basically pushing him, a 5'11" 185lb cornerback pushing our 6'3" 235 QB isn't going to cause some major injury), but you cant tackle him, you cant drive him to the ground...
that whole idea of hitting Pennington makes no sense to me... people act like you touch a QB they are going to immediately be injured... Penny would probably much prefer getting hit by a CB from a standstill, than when they come off a blitz running full speed into the pocket, or by a 280lb defensive lineman... -
He is a QB and it is much easier to avoid 1 CB trying to jam you than to avoid a pass rush where you have mulitiple rushers trying to take your head off. -

Outside of the wildcat formation, this offense really hasn't shown much in my opinion. I'm not saying that the Patriots WILL do this, I am just saying I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Chad IS the offense at this point. If we lose him, or he gets worn out from trying to get the LB/CB off of him, it will pay off in spades later on for New England. -
First of all, Pennington can run out of bounds. Why do people continue to ignore this fact? And furthermore, you really think they're going to move Vrabel outside of a position to make a play when you have the likes of Gary Guyton and Pierre Woods on the inside trying to contain Ronnie Brown?
That would be asinine.Superself and Ohio Fanatic like this. -

Everyone knows that Bellicheck is gonna come up with some crazy stuff for this game. What makes anyone think that a corner (5"10, 190) is gonna be able to rough up Chad (6'3", 220) anyway? LOL! Let's not forget that alot of the time the Wildcat is called to see what D they're gonna run against it too, whether yards are gained or not! Setup play... I could see Henning calling the Wildcat for the first play just to see what they do.
