I'm sure there is a cap on PS money, but Garrard isn't eligible for the PS anyways.

Why would we put him on IR though?

I reckon if Garrard could show a team that he were healthy, they might be willing to trade a pick for him to be their backup. Garrard for one year > Tarvaris Jackson for one year and the Seahawks got a pick from the Bills for him.

Well at first I thought he was going to get cut because he was hurt and we need the roster spot. Then another poster came back with other info. So now I wouldn't think we should. IMO We have a very good QB here and we should try to keep Garrard at all costs.

Even if we were going to cut him, why would we put him on IR?

His injury is one that was supposed to be 2-4 weeks (he's nearing the 4 week mark now), so if you put him on IR it'd be worse than cutting him. And he doesn't have a "major injury" so there's no reason to use the lone exemption to pull him off IR (if he even qualified).

I think I would rather keep Moore simply because Gerrard is showing signs of being injury prone plus if you keep him he will put a dent in the cap.
Sure Gerrard outplayed Moore and Tanny but he is caught between a rock and a hardplace.

Pretty sure Moore's cap hit is larger than Garrard's at this point.

I posted that because the other poster made it sound like we were going to cut him because his knee was worse then first reported. David Garrard is a very good QB. Better then Matt Moore.

I understand that. Let's just assume we are/were going to cut him, why do you think putting him on IR would be a better decision?

It is 3.775 for Moore and 3.375 for Garrard

Even so Moore has proved to be very durable.Time on the field when needed makes him a cheaper alternative.

It doesn't appear to me that Moore understands the offense. If we didn't have any preconceived notions, who has looked more able to run this team. Moore or Devlin?
