I don't know how credible this source is. Kinda think it's a long shot he is higher on the depth chart than Wilford, but here ya go!

I think Bess will 100% be the slot guy, or third receiver whatever you want to call it.
Wilford will most likely rotate with Hagan and play certain situations.FinsAreLife likes this. -
I just don't know about that slow 40 time reported the guy looks football fast to me and that's all I give a s**t about

From what I remember, Bess was abit banged up when he ran his 40. So it may have been a little slow. But, now that he is 100%, we will all see his true speed, that made him a standout in Hawaii.:yes:Crappy Tipper, Dolfan4Life and k-bayfinfan like this. -
Id be okay with that if its true. The kid runs good routes, and catches pretty much everything he gets his hands on. Looks like he has some speed to me. Im all for it, I think he's going to be a good playmaker for us down the road.

good news. we need all the help we can get at the WR spot.
-
So if this Bess guy is the #3, what happens to Ernest Wilford and Derek Hagan? #4 and #5? I thought Wilford was thought around here, actually I remember one poster calling him "one of the best possession receivers in the league", to be a starter in 2008?
Are Miami fans comfortable with Camarillio starting, a man with just nine receptions last year? -

Fell? I'm assuming you mean fell in the draft, correct? If so, the reason he fell was because of his poor Senior Bowl performance. He dropped numerous balls in the Senior Bowl. I don't know what happened to him. I was impressed with him at ASU but something went wrong there.
Regarding Bess in the slot, its possible but I don't think it will happen unless Hagan or Camarillo really disappoint. Hagan and Camarillo are in a battle for the second WR spot. The loser will be the number three guy imo. If that number three guy fails to impress then Wilford or Bess could get their chance. It will interesting to see how this plays out. -
Wilford deserves to be no higher than #6 WR. The contract he signed back in the offseason is the only reason he's on this roster.

I'm gonna wait till I see how he does this season before I pass judgement. this will be his 3rd season, if hes gonna do anything, he should show it this year.

Bess will play on sunday, we must get that kid on the field, great outlet for chad, that crossing route against Nawlins was a thing of beauty

My opinion is just that if you can't catch consistently the minute you strap it up as a pro you won't get much better.
Route running, timing, the mental edge - those things all develop over time.
but catching is the most basic function of a WR and in my opinion he isn't consistent there. -

Hagan is getting better but he's stillnot starter materiel yet. Bess is a perfectly built reciever to be the number 3. The slot reciever doesn't have to be the fastest guy on the field, he need to be the quickest guy, and smart so he is always right where the QB needs him to be. Bess just doesn't drop the ball much, thats why he's succeeding, and his nice work (except for the one muff) returning punts hasn't hurt much either. I still think he ends up at the start of the season backing up Camarillo at that spot. Ginn and Wilford will probably be the other two starters, but Hagan might get the start too if he keeps improving in practice.
I hate to have to say it but I think the main reason our WR's got better at catching the ball lately is due to Pennington being a better QB than they've been playing catch with so far. -
Bess is a slot type reciever, sure he can be a #2. But, with his skills I would rather have him in the slot getting quick first downs.JMO

That does make good sense. -
It really shouldnt matter WHO is throwing the ball. If they are putting it in a position to be caught, it NEEDS to be caught! Granted if they are bombing it 10 yards over someones head, no, thats not a WRs fault. But even if its not a perfect pass, they need to haul it in. For gods sake, its all they are paid MILLIONS to do! Dropped passes drive me nuts, NO EXCUSE!
Thats why Bess has been a breath of fresh air with those glue hands. Ginn has looked solid in that dept. as well. Guys like Chambers or Hagan, while having undeniable talent, have a bad propensity to drop a ball in a key situation that should have been caught. If your glove gets on the ball, you catch it, simple as that. Hagan will get his shot, but if he puts it on the floor early on watch for him to hit the pine. -

Well behind me anyway.:wink2:
I was a big Chambers fan. Though he got me frustrated with his play. Making dazzling circus catches and then dropping easy passes. The QB thing has come up alot with that. I wonder how he would fair with Pennington as QB?
I am just thankful Bess is here now, the next O.J. McDuffie IMO anyway. -

So we can't talk about posters in other threads? I'm so, so sorry I hurt your soft feelings. Maybe you should have some thicker skin if you're going to post on Message Boards, especially on opposing teams Message Boards.
And I'm not even going to get into the Jets improvements compared to Miami's with it, its useless. The game on Sunday will show the bridge between.
G'night. -

Damn, now I feel bad for bringing Aqua's name up and the 2 going at it.
Signing off. -
As far as Bess goes, does anyone else see him being a Wes Welker but with speed? -
-
Welker plays fast and thats what counts:up: I would love to see Bess become an oj McDuffie with better speed.

I think Sparano just said that this could change...I believe it was here....
Sparano's comments on Hagan and Camarillo:
Quote:
Earlier this week, when Greg Camarillo suddenly emerged ahead of Derek Hagan, it was the first sign of a considerable shake-up near the top of the roster. Whether it sticks for Sunday's game is a decision Sparano planned to make late Friday afternoon.
''I really need to watch the film still and see where we are there, but both these guys have practiced pretty well this week,'' Sparano said. ``Obviously, I've had Camarillo working in there, but Hagan has practiced really well this week.''
So we don't really know just yet, but Bess is an exciting little guy...I don't have privy to game films, but perhaps they've seen some things, particularly in his returns that show that he needs to be active on Sundays...
Like most here, I suspect Wilford would end up being the odd man out...and I'd like to see someone besides Ginn show that they can return the ball on KO and punts... -
I love bess, he's the black wes welker
