So I recently purchased a Motorola Droid (mainly because I wanted an actual keypad and decent coverage, something that the iPhone couldn't offer me here in Manhattan), and I wanted to know which applications I should consider getting for the Droid.
Does anyone have any favorites that they would like to share?

Google maps with the text to speech downloaded. I use TuneWiki a lot to stream radio. TuneWiki includes the shoutcast and last.fm apps along with some MP3 stuff. Happy Hours is cool if it covers one of the cities your in and you like drinking on the cheap. The ixMat Scanner is cool for comparative shopping.

Tapatalk is probably the best app ever. :shifty:
Shazam is great for figuring out that song your heard in the car. Same as the iPhone app.
Food Finder is pretty self explanatory, but quite useful. I tend to just go with 'Nearby Restaurants' and skip the genre. :lol:Vengeful Odin and FinSane like this. -
Advanced task killer or advanced task manager is a must...helps with the battery life by killing unclosed apps.
Caller ID Faker allows you to call your best friends using someone elses number. Ive already had too much fun with this one.
Bartender (useful if you have to serve guests or like to go barhopping and want something different)
Steamy Window (self explanatory)
SchottGunn (makes a shotgun sound)
Zedge (ringtones)
Jokes on Blondes

NYC bus and subway maps....if you tend to get lost and stuff wondering around NYC at 3 AM :shifty:

Also agree on the advanced task killer, good app to have.
I've got:
Twidroid (Twitter)
Pandora
Barcode Scanner (Scans barcodes and does a google product search to see other prices)
Quick Settings (Gives you an easier way to turn off GPS, Wifi, Data, etc and other options for when you aren't using them to save battery)

Not to HJ VO's thread, but does anyone know a good site for downloading cracked apps? I know most of the Android apps are free (especially on the Hero Market), but Tapatalk is $3 and some of the other cool ones cost money as well.
-
Do you realize how pathetic that is?
If there are any links to crack it, I will remove them. It's a great app. And the last thing we want is to be banned from using it (requires a server-side app).
I'm threatening ban hammer here. :yes:HardKoreXXX likes this. -
Not complaining about $3, no. But there are numerous other apps that charge, and that adds up. The nice thing about 'Market' is that there are a TON of free apps, but as I said a lot of the better ones (like Tapatalk) charge.
And you know what, I almost put a disclaimer in my post about not posting the link because I figured you may not like the idea. -
