Title says it all. For me, it's a toss up between Dragon Age: Origins and Crysis. What say you?

Currently playing a game called nexuiz which is a game based on the quake engine. Best of all it's free. www.alientrap.org.

Best PC game I've played following along the lines of doom, duke nukem, & quake, etc. -
I've played so many games that it's really tough for me to single one out as the greatest ever.
For a long time, I thought Radiant Silvergun was that game, but the more I think about it, it's not even the best bullet hell shooter. Fun as it is, I can't really call it the best game ever.
Jet Grind Radio was really, really good, but suffered from Sega's lower production budgets at the time. Awesome premise, but felt slightly repetitive, and the music was a joke considering Sega hired professionals. JGR could have trumped GTA Vice City years in advance, but Sega screwed that one up.
The Xenosaga series taken as a trilogy and not as three individual games is pretty high up on my list. If it hadn't gone through editing hell and had a tighter focus in development, maybe, just maybe...
You know what, I'm going to go ahead and say that the game that comes closest to "best" is Metal Gear Solid 2.Anonymous and Phinatic425 like this. -
After putting some more thought to it, Goldeneye has to be at the top of my list. The memories with that game... -

star wars: knights of the old republic is it for me.

Final Fantasy 8 for me. I'm not usually obsessive when it comes to games, but I could not put that game down. Took me ages to complete also as I kept ****ing up.
Not really into many of the newer games, more of a retro gamer. Some of my fav's would have been Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Super Mario 3, Super Mario Kart, Battletoads, etc. But my fave would definetly be FF8. -
Its hard for me to pick as well, I really only play sportsgames, and action games...
But I liked Resident Evil, the original one for PSONE in 1996, because that and Tomb Raider were like the transition games from old school gaming (Atari, SNES, Colecovision), to more new school gaming for me.... -
My Tops: Suikoden II, Streets of Rage, Super Street Fighter II, River City Ransom, and Quake 3 Arena.

I actually just did another play through of KOTOR. Fallout 3 has probably surpassed it for me though.

The year was 1997; the game: Kickball. We won by a run off a walk-off double off my foot. Felt good. Felt damn good.

Legend of Zelda: OoT. The game was awesome back in the day for the N64 and remains one of my favorites.

Toss up between MGS4 and Mass Effect. Like what I have played of ME2 but have not had much time to play. Now on the PC Diablo 2 is the game I have logged the most time in. Can't wait for D3 to ever come out, I hope it is before I turn 70.

Hmmm, very tough to decide mainly because I don't play as many games as some of you guys... Among my top though would be Super Mario World, GTA San Andreas, NCAA Football 09 (online dynasty FTW), Halo 3, Street Fighter II... and Pokemon Yellow. :shifty:

Super Mario Bros. 3
Megaman 1-4
Tales Of Symphonia -

For sports games, I have to go with ESPN NFL 2K5. No Madden has come close to it.

Note: This does not include that horrid MMO ff11... Or Mystic Quest (which isnt considered an FF game in most circles) -
-
I wasn't a huge fan of FF8 either. Or FF11, then again, I can't stand most MMO's.
-
I can't pick just one game. If I was pressed though the game would have to come from the NES/SNES era.
-
It's so obviously Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, followed closley by MGS4.
-
-
Madden 94 - just couldn't believe my eyes when turned on Playstation for the first time (never had SNES)
NFS Most Wanted - Just love the game
Call of Duty 4 - Had never played a FPS before this and borrowed off a mate to see what the hype was about and got hooked straight away -
Definitely Knights of the Republic. Best story/RPG combination.
Others: older games like Might and Magic IV and V and even older - Dragonlance game back in the early 90s.
MMORPG - have to go with City of Heroes. when that game was in it's first 18 months, it was a great environment for online play. -
Two come to mind, and they were both cooperative experiences.
(1) "Wasteland," which I played with my college roommate and best man on the Commodore 64 back in the day. Oh the joy of turning your opponent into a "thin red paste."
(2) Much later, the Baldur's Gate series on the PS2 filled many a night for Mrs. Zoom and me.
