Best NBA Game/Series?

sking29forum_veteranOPWell I guess this might belong in the Questions & Suggestions forum but I think it works better here since the people I want to ask are all here. :D
Anyway I'm wanting to buy a NBA game to play and my newest NBA game right now is NBA Live 2001 for the PS2...so obviously I need an upgrade.
I've heard forever that the 2K series is they way to go but after playing the demos for 2K10 and Live 2010 I preferred Live but since these were demos I know that can be skewed. However I am not locked into getting a 2010 version since I am looking for the best NBA game for this generation and from reviews I have read so far that is 2K8.
I guess my real question has several parts; first what current gen NBA game do you think is the best; if you own several how has say 2K10 progressed from 2K8 (same for Live etc.); and finally just give me a recommendation for a great NBA game experience.

Vengeful Odinforum_veteran2K, for both College and NBA. Nothing else comes close. Unfortunately they haven't published the college game in a couple years, though they do have a roster share.

Nice I was thinking of picking up 2K8 for both the NBA and College for sub $20 and a roster share would be great for the college at least.

Vengeful Odinforum_veteranI haven't bought the NBA game in a couple years, but I have the last year that College Hoops came out (2K8). Really they should all be pretty similar ... I prefer the college game because I prefer college basketball to the NBA.
Stitchesluxury_boxI bought 2k10 for like $20 and am happy with it. I had eithe 2k9 or 2k8 before that and I didn't find it to be as good as 2k10.

UCFinfan86forum_veteranNBA 2k10 is an amazing game. Its the only game i play, and i think its the best one of the series with the new Fatigue meter they added in.
I never liked NBA Live since the new gen, to me Live is almost unplayable. 2k has by far better gameplay
dolfan32323New MemberNBA 2k10 is your best bet for NBA, however College Hoops 2k8 is the best basketball game IMO. I absolutely love that game and still play it.
