No question in my mind...absolutely Marshall

 

I took Dansby. With the idea that both stay healthy I say Dansby. Dansby will be given a chance to make more plays Tackles, fumbles, ints, or coverage. This is still a running team and Marshall will be some what limited.

 

we're not paying marhsall $10M/yr to block.

 

I don't believe so. He is the ultimate possession WR and Red Zone monster. Marshall is going to make this offense so much better.


Man I have to slow down because I almost jizzed my pants thinking how awesome our offense is going to be.

 

If we are running the ball effectively we are. Dansby is not making chump change either.

 

That all may be true but we are still a running team. I do think Marshall will make us much better dont get me wrong guys. I love the move but its still up to the defense to stop the other team and prevent them from scoring points.

 

Marshall makes the offense better. No longer can teams stack the box with Marshall in the game. This will also open the door for other Receivers and if we can get a TE that can also spread the defense out we will have a beastly offense.

 

Dansby makes the defense better too tho. Dansby can take on blockers ans is really good in coverage. Dansby will make the Defense alot better with all the things he does.

 

this is such a tough call. In the end you have to go with Marshall because the obvious firepower it gives our offense but Dansby will be a guy who quietly makes every facet of our defense better.

 

You don't have to go with Marshall. I didn't.

 

marshall will add more TDs than Dansby will take away. not just TDs that marshall will score himself, but the ones he opens up for the rest of the team. He will open up the run even more. He will draw attention away from Hartline, Bess, Fasano. And he will move the chains. Dansby will make impact plays, but he will not impact the defense as a whole as much as Marshall does to the offense. Think about the Texans without Andre Johnson. He IS the Texans. In the same way, Marshall can be the Dolphins.

 

im just stoked that we got two of the biggest signings possible.

this beats the hell out of picking up ernest wilford and gibril wilson.

 

dansby. Defense was way worse ranked then our offense was and dansby takes care of a huge need for us.

 

Our biggest problem last year was getting off the field on third down. Dansby helps fix that.

Our best third down WR is Bess, he was 3rd in the NFL last yr. Marshall cannot dramatically improve on that.

Dansby has the biggest impact.

 

You dont know whether Marshall will score more than Dansby will take away. No one knows that for sure. Dansby will effect the defense just as much. Dansby will stop teams from scoring and get Marshall on the field. Dansby will make all the other players sround him alot better. The Texans are not just one player. There QB is pretty damn good too you know

 

We are paying him $10M/yr to play WR for the Dolphins. The job description of playing WR for the Dolphins, includes blocking.

 

Gotta go Marshall. Even if he doesn't get the big catch, he'll draw the coverage to open up the other receivers. He'll still be a factor even when he's not.:up:

 

I would say Marshall because with him, our offense is pretty much complete. He was the one piece we were lacking. On defense, we still need NT, OLB, and FS.

 

Marshall, for sure. Here's why. Arguably the one single most important factor this offense was missing was a bona fide, true #1 wr that is a play-maker. We now have that in Marshall, to complement a decent run game and an up and coming QB.

On D, the OLB, FS and NT holes-to-gaping-holes in the D will not allow Dansby to be the key addition to the unit. Not that he isn't capable nor should his addition be minimized, but there are just so many other missing parts that even the draft isn't going to fill them all. Does anyone feel comfortable with Wake and Anderson/QMoses as our OLBs ?? Even if we land a Morgan or Hughes in the first, there are still questions about whether or not Wake can effectively man the WOLB spot. Then there is the uncertainty of the rookie. Even if we land a potential replacement or rotational player in each position (FS, NT, OLB), a lot would have to happen for the D to become a championship caliber in this offseason...

 

I picked Marshall, but only by a fraction. They're both excellent additions that should positively impact the team as a whole. I can't wait to see them both in action!!...

the position puts Marshall in more opportunites to be the difference maker......although I'll take a Dansby touchdown in the playoofs to win a game any day of the week...

 

Marshall, by the way, is very good at blocking downfield. I heard that he actually likes to block.

Dansby is huge for the defense. The unit is already better just because he is there. but my choice is Marshall. Obviously our offense is much better with his addition, but he helps the defense as well by keeping drives going and giving the defense a rest.

 

It's Marshall and it's not even close. Dansby will make an impact on our defense, but the impact he will have on our secondary is limited and that's where we struggled last year. Brandon Marshall immediately gives a huge boost to our entire offense.

 

How will Dansby make players around him better? It's not like Dansby is gonna draw a double team or cover more than one player.

And obviously that first statement was an opinion, which I backed up in the following statements.

I'm not saying he doesn't have to block. My point was that we're paying him a lot, and you can expect our offensive strategy to change because of it. We will feature more passing because of Marshall. We're not going to use him as a decoy. We're going to use him as a weapon. :hi5:

 

I think they will have equal impact, but it will be far easier to notice Marshall's impact as the stats will be more reflective in his case. All what Dansby does for the D might not be represented strictly with tackles.

 

I think someone hit it on the head when they said Marshall will create more score than Dansby will prevent.

 

Another big reason why Marshall has the bigger impact: NFL rules favor the passing game and handicap the defense.

 

Marshall will also help our defense backs by having to face him every day in practice... just saying....

 

I like the Dansby and the Marshall pickup, but. I have to say Marshall because we have been looking for a #1 wide receiver and a big red zone target for what seems like forever.
It seemed like everybody on here was wanting a #1 W/R prior to the Marshall pickup especially one thats speedy, could open up the defense, be a deep threat and help keep the Dolphins defense off the field. Even though I was apprehensive of Marshall's background at first, I kind of feel like he may be the best wide receiver the Dolphins have ever had or at least one of the best and will help our young QBs development but thats JMO.

 

In a way I agree, but if I had to pick one of the 2 I would pick Dansby because our defense is our weak point.

I think that we could have made the playoffs this year without Marshall...but now I believe this even more

so you are saying we didnt struggle at the ILB position last year. That is not true at all. Why do you think we brought Dansby here.

I still can't see that...Yes, D was and is our weakest spot on the team, all the more reason that Marshall's impact will be greater. Not minimizing Dansby at all, but the man can't do it alone. We have a solid complement of WRs, TEs and an up and coming QB to aid Marshall in having an impact but what does Dansby have on D besides himself ?? Wake ?? Anderson ?? Q Moses ?? Merling ?? Soliai ?? Culver ?? Clemons ?? Not exactly qualities that conjure up memories of the No Names... I mean, they are no-names, just not No Names....

Dansby was a great addition....but he can't do it by himself...Marshall won't have to and in fact will assist the other skilled positions onto greater success.

Of course, all this could be moot after the draft, OTAs and TC....

 

But having Marshall out there can open up the running game much like Paul Warfield did for Csonka, Kiick and Morris during the '70's. If you don't have a true threat in the passing game defenses can load up in the box and make it more difficult to run the ball.
