Bill Polian Talks Dolphins - Vikings Draft Day Swap: By Marc Sessler NFL.com
Unless the Miami Dolphins are satisfied with Matt Moore at quarterback, they're running out of options to upgrade at the position.
Peyton Manning is happily tucked away in Denver, and Matt Flynn is in Seattle, but with the draft just weeks away, the Dolphins still have a chance to grab their man in Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill, who's widely considered the third-best quarterback in this year's class.
Former Indianapolis Colts general manager Bill Polian believes the Dolphins risk losing out on Tannehill unless they make a bold move to acquire the Minnesota Vikings' No. 3 pick.

Here is another article on Miami's first round intentions;
Projecting Round 1 of the NFL Draft: Don't expect Miami Dolphins to take Ryan Tannehill - Ben Volin Palm Beach Post
And with the eighth pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select ...
Not Ryan Tannehill.
Yes, it's clear that Dolphins fans are desperate for a franchise quarterback. It has been almost three decades since Miami chose a passer in the first round (Dan Marino, 1983), and none of the current quarterbacks (Matt Moore, David Garrard and Pat Devlin) has captured the fans' imagination.
But The Palm Beach Post predicts that the Dolphins will extend their streak to 29 years.

I agree with the PBP more than I agree with Polian. Oline and Brock Osweiler here we come. We might get lucky and trade down and still get a QB, but I'm not optimistic.

Cocaine is a helluva drug.

I'm fine not getting Tannenhill. I'm more comfortable with Weeden if we are to select a QB and after watching him a bit I'm kind of starting to like Osweiler.

Is there a QB really worth trading up from #8? The top two QBs are going to be long gone by 8.
Maybe if the third QB taken in the draft was a guarantee to be franchise material it would be worth trading up and losing out on other picks. Why bother bleeding the bank just take what is there at 8 or trade back. -

If they end up with any QB I hope they don't trade up to aquire them.

Does anyone get the feeling the media simply does not want to see us get a QB?

I thought Ben Volin had a good point in that it's not in Jeff Ireland's record to take a chance. Ryan Tannehill at #8 is a big chance, a big bet. I forget who it was that said it, I think Mayock, but if that bet fails, the whole regime gets canned. Now, the REALITY is they get canned if they DON'T make that kind of bet, too...but that's something that is a little harder to recognize.
It's just harder sometimes for people to recognize that not having a quarterback period puts you on a timer, the same as taking one and him turning out to be a bust. If people knew the truth, they'd roll the dice on a QB whenever they get the chance, knowing that all you have to do is find one that pans out because if you're the guy that brings a franchise quarterback to a town, no matter what it cost you, you've now got an awful lot of leeway and job security. Takes a lot to squander it.HardKoreXXX, MAFishFan and LandShark13 like this. -
If Tannehill is there at #8 I'm fine with that. I don't like the idea of trading down to #3. If that is the case, why didn't the offer the farm to get RG3? Seems like a similar move for a QB who's not as good as RG3. If Tannehill is gone by #8, then so be it. I'd work a trade down at the point and aim for a DE/WR or Weeden. IMO Miami NEEDS to come out of this draft with either Tannehill or Weeden. I'm not sold on any of the other QB's in the draft, especially Osweiler. And as much as I'd love to see Matt Barkley as a Dolphin, how is that really going to happen? Miami will not be bad enough to land in that top spot and we saw what they think of trading away the draft to get a top tier QB. Plus, I'm tired of watching medicore and sucky seasons. If this team isn't a playoff team, they're a 6 or 7 win team, which as usual, puts you somewhere in the Top 10. That means no Barkley. And honestly, I can't fathom looking forward to the 2013 draft now.

The only reason for me wanting Ryan on our team is so they can blow up his insane hot model fiancé on the tv 4-5 times a game

Volin also said yesterday he thinks Tannehill falls to #11. I like Ben, but he doesn't know ****.
