How does a game like Bioware have such horrible facial animation..... Was looking forward to the game but can't get over that.

I've had the 360 CE pre-ordered for a while now.

Combat Animations > Face Animations
Back in the day BioWare gamers would be baffled to hear someone have "Face animations" listed as a major complaint, but I guess years have passed since then.
This also happens to be one of the most visually impressive RPGs ever made IMO. -
Well look at Mass Effect. They had some of the best facial animations then you take a look at Dragon Age: Origins and its a MAJOR step down. It totally takes away from the experience. -
So really, that tells me Dragon Age's team is Biowares B team, cause their A team is clearly on Mass Effect 2.BuckeyeKing likes this. -

Here is a preview of dragon age for the 360, the guys doing the preview are kind of annoying but it gives a good idea of how the game will play on the consoles. [ame="http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-dragon-age-origins-360/17-1528/"]Quick Look: Dragon Age: Origins (360) - giantbomb.com[/ame]

1. It's on Torrent Leech as of this morning for PC.
2. It's NOTHING like KOTOR or Mass Effect. It's a lot more like Diablo - At least from a combat standpoint. You tell the character to atteck, and he keeps attacking while you throw in special attacks. Pretty boring actually.
3. The story seems very rich and has decent voice acting. The graphics are ok, but seem stale and boring compared to ME.
4. This game (like most classic PC RPGs like Baulder's Gate) is very unforgiving. There's no warnings that you're about fight a monster that's gonna analy penetrate you. And there's no escaping fights. If you run, you cant get away until you die... It's kinda dumb.
All in all I'm a few hours in and I'm not into it... If that makes sense. I want to like it, but I'm having a hard time. Maybe it's better set as a PC game.BuckeyeKing likes this. -

I could play KOTOR completely turn based, however if memory serves me right it would take a lot of clicking the pause button. -

I should note that my friend agrees with you... He feel it's exactly like KOTOR. Maybe I'm the insane one lol

Put in a few hours last night. The game definitely gets better. I love that in battle, blood gets all over your party, and it stays there in cut scenes. As you get into the world of the Grey Wardens, you'll find that it's a crazy one. The story takes a crazy twist rather early pulling you in. The spec tree is straight out of KOTOR, but that's a good thing.
Also, about the combat... If you hold the left trigger, you can stop the game and go to a convenient menu allowing you to make good combat decisions without having to do them on the fly in real time. Anyone that's fought a tough boss in KOTOR knows that you survival chances are slim if you dont slowly make the right moves. Same goes here. The one real boss i fought was very big and equally cool. I dont want to ruin the story, but push through the boring first hour and a half or two and I promise you'll be hooked.
One super gripe is the equipment system. There's no fast easy way to compare the gear you picked up VS the ones you're wearing. You have to go into a Compare screen. I don't know why they couldnt have a quick stat on each item when you "mouse over" it. Not even close to a deal breaker... Loving it more and mor. Get it?Ducken, dolfan32323 and BuckeyeKing like this. -

Example:
Bag - Studded Leather Boots Armor 6 +2 attack
Wearing - Reinforced Leather Boots Armor 7 +1 attack
(These are all examples, not real items or specs)
Was making the little green bars and arrows too difficult? Why did they abandon something that worked fine in Mass Effect and countless other RPGs. I understand they were looking for that old-school RPG feel. But some stuff needs to evolve.
LOL other than that, the game is freaking coming along awesome.Ducken and BuckeyeKing like this. -
I don't understand why BW hasn't figured out a great inventory system. The ME system was tedious but once you got the Master Spectre gear, Colossus IX or X and the X ammo/armor upgrades everything could be sold or converted to Omni Gel.
Looking forward to playing it though. Btw Mor what Race, Class, and skill tree are you going as?
Also I hear the 360 version the worst in comparison to the PS3 and PC versions. -
Wow this game is amazing so far. The story telling, the VA, the graphics. I don't normally buy SP Games but this game might warrant it. Not really a fan of the Tactic system though.

Was looking at BW site at some of the vids for DAO and it seems you will beable to import the blood armor over to Mass Effect2:up: http://dragonage.bioware.com/gallery/videos/
Think I just may have to go out and pick this up today, I have AC2 on pre order and I don't like to get to many games in one month, but oh well.:wink2: -
I got it. I love it. I woke up today thinking I was coming down with a Dragon Age Origin Flu. A lot of that is probably going around.

Im hesitant to get the 360 version even though I need to drop some cash for repairs on my PC before I could get to play it on that. Im also a stubborn POS, and being so used to baldurs gate/NWN gameplay on the PC is a big issue for me. Im not a big fan of radial menus, such as the way Command & Conquer is handled on consoles. Also, the mods that will be out there for the PC essentially make it one of those timeless games that can have ridiculous replay value. I read that the Editor they are releasing with the game has the same tools available to the developers, including full control of in-engine cut scenes. The PC version could also give way to a mod that may allow for online play, but that part is unconfirmed at this point.

I have to say, I have been playing this pretty much all weekend. I wasn't expecting much from it really, just treated it a little like another over-hyped game that I should at least give a go. I haven't put it down. I love it.
Of course ME is still my game though. -
Its is hard! Shadow Werewolves are whooping my ***.
