Has anyone been following this? I was looking at it a year ago and again a few months ago... Now that Batman has come and gone, it's quickly made it to the top of my new game wish list. It's being called am FPS/RPG. Looks freaking awesome to me. Here's a developer interview with some great insight on the game.

looks pretty rad

Thanks to Phin o Rama for pointing it out today via evil IMs, but Borderlands leaked today. As did FIFA10 NTSC. Good times, good talk.

I dont even know where to begin with this. It's one part FPS, one part RPG, one part MMO and 100% awesome. This game will probably not sell the amount of units it worth. It's what Planet Side should have played like. Granted, it's not an MMO - It's capped at 4 players. But the game, the world, and the quests are huge. The spec system rules. The weapons kick ***. The looting kicks ***.... The Tarentino-ish presentation is very cool as well. My main gripes is:
1. Lack of a looting system in mutiplayer. Worked fine playing with my buddy, but I can imagine going into XBL for help with a boss or something, and the douche runs in and snatches all of the good loot. No bueno.
2. Lack of true character customization (visually). Once you pick a class, your look is picked. You change his (or her) color and gear. That's it. There should be more visual freedom.
3. Some quests are labeled "Normal" difficulty, and it's just plain hard. Similar to World of Warcraft, the quests have level recommendations as a color classifications Green is easy or normal, yellow is tough, orange is hard, and red is impossible. Normal quests should be beatable with relative challenge. Some are normal like they should be... Some are absurdly hard. Maybe they're looking for the "team" element, wanting me to invite XBL buddies to help... But then the quest should be labeled as such. I'm being picky.
The game kicks ***.DaFish, Frumundah Finnatic and TheAnswer385 like this. -

It has a story, but it's broken up a lot. If you need to be hand held via a story line, this isn't the game for you.
-
White - The item is normal
Green - The item is good
Blue - The item is rare
Purple - The item is Epic
Orange - The item is one of a kind
Again, I really dig it. It gives that satisfaction of getting awesome gear without having to put in years of your life that WOW asks for.Ultra likes this. -
It is on my christmas list.

This game is tons of fun.

yeah, I'm loving it right now. Only made it to lvl 20 so far but I wish there was a place to stash things. I was playing with some buddies who were a few levels higher than me and pulled a whole bunch of stuff I can't use until lvl 24, so like 3 of my slots a taken with useless stuff right now

i have been totally addicted to this game GRINDING. Just hit level 33 last night.
-
the game is great. Ive sunk a large amount of time into it. But i gotta say im getting to the point where i want some storyline.
i realize this is entirely a gamers game, but games like fallout and mass effect still reign supreme over something like this because they provide the addicting nature of grinding with an overall story.
Speaking of fallout, man was that a good move changing the art style to cel-shading. this game would have looked exactly like a poor fallout if it had tried for the realistic graphics.Sethdaddy8 likes this. -
I just beat Sledge with my fiance last night. Boy he was tough.
I don't know if he was tougher than when I faced Mel and Mo though. -

LOL good stuff! Levels are a big deal. A three level difference, and the enemy probably has no chance
-
-
lvl 34 - i think I'm at the end. Good to see that there's new enemy types later in the game. They didn't just use more high leveled badass brutes

The devs seems to be on top of the game too

what about PC
the multiplayer is broken it's pretty much ruined it -

My fiance and I just beat it. Damn are those last couple missions TOUGH!
After you "beat" the game, and return the key to Tannis, what else is left to do? -
clean up quests you never beat

so I don't know if you guys are like me, but I'm super obsessed about equipment spec and just read some stuff that ticks me off a bit. Apperently there are up to 5 lines of bonuses that can be included on equipment.....FIVE. As you are probabably aware, the console versions only show 4 lines. That means all my stuff potentially has hidden stuff that I don't know what does and it's driving me crazy when I go to see what stuff is better. There is a PC fix that I can track down if anyone cares, apprently you can go into the code and change the font down to size 8 and it will show everything fine, but this really irks me that I can't do anything about it so now I spend even more time trying to figure out hidden stuff; especially since there is no modified accuracy, recoil, damage, or fire rate number you can compare anything to

Zombie Island DLC coming November 24th.

I have been playing this quite a bit lately(just got it about a week ago) and am up to level 23. Its ten times the fun playing with people you know(xbox live was a mess trying to play it like that)...I got my brother on there the other day and we played all the way through till he reached level 17..I was 22 at the time... I heard the new DLC is really good with an insane boss, new guns, and enemies. I'm hearing its about 10 hours of play, so I will most likely get it once I complete it. Anyone get the General Knox?
