So we don't play this team well historically. This will be in Baltimore as well on a short week against a team that we are 6-8 against lifetime. Two of those losses were playoff losses in which we were dominated. I have heard that Baltimore is down this year but this has been a tough matchup for us. What gets us this win?
My take: if we can get the Jay train rolling again we could see success. With Matt Moore as the likely starter with the Cutler ribs in question, I think he plays poised like he did last year against the jets in prime time. The defense will also play fast early on limiting the Ravens.
My prediction: Miami 24 - Baltimore 16
Phins up!

The Ravens are a bad team this year, but then again so are the Jets, right? Miami is not good enough to take any team for granted, but this is a game we SHOULD win. I think Moore will do fine on a short week. I'd predict a 27-17 Dolphin win.

Have to be patient with the run game. Their front 7 is weaker than ever this year. The Offense has nothin, Maclin and Wallace are their two best recievers and both of them will be out. Their rung game is non existent and Flacco is getting beat up. Just have to score more than they do. I'll take a 13-10 slopfest, just get er done

This game will come down to which crappy offensive line gets exploited more...
-
They have a very bad run defense. Need to ride that train all night long. If we can do that successfully, we should be able to win.
-
The other part of this game is that afterwards, it is the closest thing to a bye that Miami gets this year. I hope Gase has plans to rest the team as much as possible. Let Parker get healthy (I doubt he plays Thursday) and anyone else who needs it (Cutler is a more interesting situation, but we need to know how badly he is actually hurt first).
Being 5-3 halfway through the season would be okay, but 6-2 would be awesome. One step closer on Thursday.Irishman and adamprez2003 like this. -
Playing a wounded animal is never easy. If Baltimore loses this game their season is just about over. True that their offense is horrendous. But I think their defense will come to play. Low scoring affair which we eke out I hope

Their defense is loaded with vets, and while Brandon Williams hasn't been living up to his contract, our interior OL has been dreadful. This might be an all FG game.Irishman and adamprez2003 like this. -

The only time I remember the Phins beating the Ravens are meaningless wins in lost seasons.
2008 Camarillo win to save the winless season and a 2015 win in the Dan Campbell season that I didn't even bother watching. -

Here's PFF on Ravens vs. Vikings:
TOP 5 GRADES:
CB Brandon Carr, 84.5 overall grade
OLB Terrell Suggs, 83.4 overall grade
DT Michael Pierce, 79.4 overall grade
LG James Hurst, 79.3 overall grade
CB Jimmy Smith, 77.8 overall grade
PERFORMANCES OF NOTE:
QB JOE FLACCO, 42.7 OVERALL GRADE
The Vikings defense has been giving opposing quarterbacks fits all season and Flacco was no different. Of his 27 completions, only three were 10-plus yards down the field. On Flacco’s 11 pressured dropbacks, he gained all of seven yards through the air and took five sacks.
RG JERMAINE ELUEMUNOR, 32.7 OVERALL GRADE
The loss of Marshal Yanda was felt mightily in this one. Eluemunor was a liability from the first snap to the last. He allowed a sack, two hurries, and commited two penalties on the day.
CB BRANDON CARR, 84.5 OVERALL GRADE
This is the type of impact they were hoping for when they signed Carr from Dallas this offseason. He was targeted six times, allowed only three catches for 22 yards and snagged an early interception.
LB PATRICK ONWUASOR, 40.2 OVERALL GRADE
Much of the Ravens’ struggles in run defense can be traced back to the play of Onwuasor. The second-year linebacker was hesitant snap-after-snap versus the run and couldn’t quite make heads or tails of the Vikings rushing attack. He also missed two tackles on seven attempts.
PFF GAME BALL: LINVAL JOSEPH, DT
And in their post week defensive rankings here's the entry on the Ravens:
"
24. BALTIMORE RAVENS
BEST-GRADED STARTER: Brandon Williams, DI, 85.4
WORST-GRADED: Lardarius Webb, CB, 41.7
Baltimore’s defense has run hot or cold this season. They began the year on fire, but those performances came against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns. Since then the Jaguars put up 44 points, followed by the Steelers and Bears both putting up more than 25, with only Oakland continuing to struggle. They have individuals playing well, but the sum of the parts has been disappointing." -

The Jets have been playing average or a bit better all year, which still seems strange given what seems to be a lack of talent, and I do believe the front office wanted to tank the season and get a top three draft pick. At this point, I hope they win a couple more games and miss out on all the top QBs in 2018.Redwine4all likes this. -
I'm in Raven's country so I watch most of their games while streaming the Dolphins.
My Observations:
Suggs is still a beast and can wreck the game.
Jimmy Smith is a great corner.
Alex Collins was averaging 6.6 yards per carry before the Vikings games
Flacco is making a ton of mistakes when pressured
Yanda is out for the year and the rest of the line has looked bad in pass protection.
If it becomes a FG game, Justin Tucker will win it. -
alex collins was a good in season signing.
flack has no weapons.
we need to win this freakin game..
I think the dolphins will be fired up for this game..they are aware of the national disrespect..Irishman likes this. -
The Ravens held 15 players out of practice today due to injury.
LB's Suggs, Onwuasor and rookie Tim Williams
DB's Smith and Levine
Receivers Campanaro, Maclin, Perrriman, Wallace
RB West
TE Maxx Williams, Watson
Safety Weddle
Guard Sjura
Half of them are limited, but Suggs is not expected to play. Neither starting DB is expected to play. Possibly none of their starting receivers are expected to play. The list is pretty extensive for this early in the season.
Meanwhile, Dolphins would have held out Branch, Cutler, Parker, Steen and Tunsil. No word if Tunsil will be good to go Thursday, the others are questionable. We obviously know that Cutler won't go. -

Im expecting a way better output from ther o-line and the team this week, i think there is a lot more morale with Moore taking snaps so we will see.
-
Ravens will score two FG at max. This means a Thursday win for us and a half by week. Could be sweet.

So I started the thread by saying we don't play them well. Nothing changed. I thought these two teams were so different then years past. Nope, more of the same. We don't win in Baltimore...case closed.
