SACRAMENTO – California’s unemployment rate was 8.2 percent in October, and
nonfarm payroll jobs declined by 26,400 during the month, according to data
released today by the California Employment Development Department (EDD) from
two separate surveys.
The U.S. unemployment rate also increased in October to 6.5 percent.
I think these numbers are behind and not including those Californians that have had there unemployment benefits expire, along with the current months layoffs. I think a truer number is over 9% now. The numbers were just released today. These numbers usually come out around the 13th-16th of the month. We had Veterans Day during this month.
