WTF are you all doing... I know people are playing this. Feedback? Probably pick it up for XB1 this weekend.

I'm not exactly wild about this game. Not a fan of the setting, the visual design, and the game design choices made (like the terrible low FOV in single player on the PC). In multiplayer, you die pretty much instantly, and the maps are designed to let you be ambushed from multiple angles at once. There's no chance to respond to attackers.
I'm biased, but I'm sticking with Battlefield 4. -

I like it. I need to play it more before deciding how much I like it but it's way better than Ghosts.
Not really setting the bar very high there but nonetheless. -
COD Advanced Warfare
is anyone playing?
I've been having a blast with it so far. I thought it was going to be too halo/titanfall, but it's surprisingly good. -

Downloading now.... Need a break.

there is just no chance i'd drop a dime on another cod. they are a joke now. /ranton
I've played almost every cod in existence. including the original 3, The final straw for me as a serious competitive player was Blops 1 for xbox (even though i've always been and will be a pc gamer). The integrity of that series has just gone out the window. the first modern warfare was such a huge step in an awesome direction, and then MW2 came out and the multiplayer was the biggest joke, get 1 kill streak and chain it until you get a free nuke gg. ... or just run around with only a throwing knife and stealth perks until you get 25-0. It all went serious "downhill-tailspin" from there.
Also it became just as much of a money grab as blizzard games (shouldn't be a surprise because look at who makes cod). the DLCs are also joke in themselves.
It's sad what FPS's have turned into. Back in the day it was games like Unreal Tournament, the original counterstrike (going up to version 1.5 and 1.6 and the release of steam), etc. Games that were actually dependent on raw aim, map awareness, and skill. Unlike almost any FPS that comes out now a days. Competitive play isn't even watchable in most FPS's, at least for me. But I guess that's just what people want now, who cares how skill dependent a game is when the graphics are so shiney and the game gives supermegaawesomezomg perks and automated aim assistance! Only a matter of time before its "cod 37 : another dimension" and its just a bunch of ethereal beings flying around throwing kamehamehas at eachother.... /rantoff -
Somebody get this kid a damn taco haha Rough day?
I have a feeling the jumping around is going to piss me off -
Uh... i'm right here? and this kid? Lol.
I take it you've never played a real FPS. What did I say to provoke such a response? It's all pretty much true, and that wasn't even the half of it. -
The second sentence is referring to Advanced Warfare and the enhanced jumping around in multiplayer... Have I played a real FPS yes, but watching Twitch videos, it looks excessive. -
"enhanced jumping" is all I need to hear to know everything I need to know about that game. -
Go watch on Twitch

New age FPS's have become so tacky. I quit professional CS when oldstyle FPS's started to fall off the map and CPL fell apart. Man, COD had so much potential back @ MW1 days.
Battlefield is still alright, as Desides brought it up earlier that it's still his preference. Although I really liked Battlefield 1942, vietnam, road to rome, desert combat, etc.
Edit: which COD is AW most comparable to in terms of spawns, playstyle and aim? -
There are playlists where the boost jumping and exo abilities aren't available. I believe they are the classic or traditional playlist and they have TDM, S&D, and two other game types.

All I remember is in the older versions hardcore just made there be no minimap, and basically everything could near 1-shot anyone.

The one thing I liked about CODs (post MW) were the campaigns. They were always pretty cool. -
It looks like CoD meets Destiny... is that a fair comparison?
-
I couldn't say myself, lol
What is everyones all time favorite COD for that matter? going back to 1 -

as far as Advanced warefare, Sledgehammer has done a much better job that IW. The jumping around has actually grown on me quite a bit. I thought it was gonna be to much like halo but it's really not. It does have quite a learning curve with getting ambushed from random spots, but once you start to learn the maps, you figure out where and how to protect yourself.
If you're up in the air about, I would definitely say to play it at a friends house first.
But the campaign has Kevin Spacy in it...

FRIGGIN ODDJOB!!!!!!! -
As far as Advanced Warfare, I'm enjoying it. The maps leave a bit to be desired, but the gameplay is ok, and I like that it's expanding on the Black Ops 2 pick 10 with the pick 13. I especially love that you can cash in scorestreaks for extra perks, attachments, etc. Even when I'm playing well, my run and gun playing rarely allows me to hit the higher score streaks. -
I caved and bought it, having not bought the previous two and went with battle field. Cod is not near the same level as battle field IMO but I think this one is pretty fun. Once you get the hang of the Exo abilities it is pretty cool. I'm enjoying it so far but get used to dying a lot. Haven't been able to hit the high kill streaks yet like I normally do.

I got it for PC. Seems like a typical CoD game with jumping and exo abilities.
