Here is a little sample.
Still by far my favorite player on the team.

I'm not sure how much this stuff really does. It certainly sounds good and I'm glad that there are a few guys on each team around the league stepping up to be a positive role model, but it doesn't change most people. I'm sure it helps 1 person out of a 100 but I would certainly think that regardless, you still have the overwhelming majority of young players making mistakes learning the hard way.
I think it's sad that these "kids" who are 22 and 23 aren't being held to a higher standard. At a bare minimum, they're making double and triple what most of us make--some of them are making millions--and we as fans "hope" they take it seriously and apply themselves. I'm sorry, but in the world in which most of us live, that would be considered pathetic.
No wonder the average career is 3 years! The vast majority of players don't heed the advice of veterans like Wake. Truthfully, I'd say that's a sad commentary on how much these "kids" are given and how little work ethic they develop on their way to the top. I'm glad Wake wants to give back. It speaks to his character and it's a small asset to the team because it's going to reach someone. Maybe it's Ju'wann James or Jarvis Landry who hear that message and decide to work a bit harder, but most won't. You either have that kind of character when you get to the NFL or you don't. Wake's words can't save many people from themselves.
I've always considered this kind of thing to be one of the real dark spots of professional sports. -

So I'm wondering if Wake splurges a little on Christmas, or is he still hardcore on the diet?
