Eh, typically I avoid ESPN's blogs this is a decent enough article about Matt Moore and our situation.
They describe him as a "gun slinger" I don't really agree there, MM is at his best when he plays a sort of Pennington like Touch/Timing/take a shot down the hash marks game.

On a team with a lot of talent, Moore would probably be a decent QB. The Dolphins do not have a lot of talent and therefore I don't see Moore being very effective as the starting QB. I think with Henne as the starter, the Dolphins were only going to win 3-4 games this season. I certainly don't see Moore leading the Dolphins to any more victories then that. So in answer to your question, No I don't think Moore can save the Dolphins season.

Sorry, but Matt Moore's job is just to lose.

After what I saw him do in Carolina last year, in a word.....NO...he can't do it...
-
As for Moore, I like hm, if DTrain is out he will pretty much be the offense./ -
Not that I think it's going to happen, but I'm going to laugh my *** off at all the naysayers if Moore comes in and wins us enough games for a playoff berth. :tongue2:

No. Unless you mean lose every game so we can draft Andrew Luck, in which case yes.

Dtrain is listed as questionable for MNF v the Jest, if he does not play it will pretty much be the Matt Moore show unless Slaton or Lexxy step up. -
I'm no fan of SFL, but I do keep hearing Andrew Luck being compared to Peyton Manning, and that is a once every 8 yrs type of Qb, if we land him, I will not complain very loudly.
I love Sparano but if he takes the bullet that lands us Andrew Luck, I'll call his job in Miami "done" and leave it there.electrolyte likes this. -

No, I don't think Moore can save the season. IMO only this team getting itself into gear can save the season, especially since Moore doesn't play defense.
104.5 QBR allowed and 2 measly take-aways needs to change real fast if we want to win some games. I can't wait to have Vontae back on the field. Hopefully a bit tighter coverage will allow some coverage sacks and forced errors.MrClean likes this. -

If he wins this week he will save the season in my book.

DTrain's hammy is a problem as we need to know if he is what he showed he was in those 2 games, but I would not mind seeing if Lexxy has some Hillis in him, I think he does, if Lexxy and Slaton show well that is a good foundation for 2012.ascii likes this. -
Panthers may have been bad but Clausen outplayed Moore with the same players, then Moore got hurt and who knows. I'll say Moore has looked a lot better this year but I expect very little. We may even be in line for a game similar to the Bears game Thigpen started (man that was tough watching). With the bye and hopefully DTrain, and a Jets team that isn't very good, I think we avoid it being that ugly but not shocked if it happens. Either way I hope we win, just hard to get excited with what we've seen so far and with the backup QB suiting up.

Henne may not be a drive down the field and win on the final drive Qb, but he was not the reason this team hasn't won. There are far more problems than simply starting Moore can solve or correct.
-
...indeed. Our defense is a drive down the field and lose on the final drive defense. Or drive down the field and lose throughout the game defense.padre31 and ToddsPhins like this. -
God, I hope not...We need to show people we're serious about that #1 pick. I'm thinking more of the fall of western civilization; complete with Ireland being caught with a hooker in a crackhouse.

Matt Moore led the Panthers to the first pick in the NFL draft last year (w/ help from Jimmy Clausen). He will do the same for this franchise (w/ help from Chad Henne). So Matt Moore will not save the season, but he will save the franchise strangely enough.
-
The schedule won't allow the season to be saved...

If save the season means guarantees the 1st pick like he did with Carolina, sure. If save the season means getting us a few meaningless wins to keep us in mediocrity for the foreseeable future, that's possible. If save the season means getting us a winning record.

The season has been lost.

What's there to discuss? This season will be like every other sporano season: we will start crappy, pull it together and get robbed one game and we will look like world beaters in one game against a team who will make the super bowl, then we'll revert to losing out fundamentals, Tony will lose the team and we will end extra crappy. Is a matt Moore team crappier than a Chad henne team? The answer is somewhere between microwaving meatloaf and dropping a sock in importance. Next.

I'm surprised this thread still has traction but, NO. The 3rd string QB from the NFL's dead ****ing last place team in 2010 is not saving our season.
-
He's doing ok tonight against the Jets for someone that has never really seen the field. Quality 3rd string backup.
