Look, we knock the Tuna Trifecta alot here over the drafting/signing of guys like Pat White, Pat Turner, Jake Grove, Wofford, etc. - and rightly so! There's plenty of examples of bad signings, and too much chance-taking on the draft.
But can we all agree on one thing? These guys don't miss in the first round! I mean, Jake Long??? On a HOF trajectory at this point. Vontae Davis? Starting to look like a second-year Revis. First two years, two long-gone home runs w/ the #1 picks.
And would anybody be surprised if Odrick is a very solid player by next year? He's already shown to be a good player in limited action, and I can't wait for him to heal up.
Of course, this says nothing of getting Misi in the second round and - oh yeah - our starting QB (who I love, and I know will get better). John Jerry? There's others too.
Just saying, for all they've gotten wrong, our FO sure has hit on many others. And hopefully, it will continue to pay off!

Odrick is a player but the jury's still out on Vontae Davis :shifty:

So can we now assume that Parcells stepped aside to give all the credit to Ireland/Sparano? :shifty:

Cam used to abuse my Stampeder QB's (hometown CFL team / BC's rival) when he was with BC. I was pumped we signed him.
Don't forget Bess. I'm most shocked that from the old FO drafts besides ronnie they kept Crowder and Allen. Didn't think Allen stood a chance to stick around. They must of been impressed with his work ethic and attitude. He sure is paying dividends now. Hope he keeps it up. -
It is amazing the flip flopping that goes on with Dolphin fans. Just a few weeks ago Dolphin fans were calling out the front office for cutting scrubs like David Martin, Charles Grant, Donald Thomas etc. Now everyone is singing their praises.
You have to believe in what they are doing here. They are pros at this stuff.
Funny during the off season when I wanted Taylor gone a lot of posters here gave me grief about being so harsh but now as you can see there is a way for a defense to get younger and stay competitive. Hell we are much better with Wake and Misi than with Taylor and Porter. So all in all the FO does know what they are doing even in all the fan's frustration. That is why you have to believe in them instead of critically criticizing every move. I won't name names but you know who you are. :up:djphinfan, HardKoreXXX and DolfanTom like this. -

are there some flaw's in the front office? sure, they need to do a better job on the mid level free agency front, but the ability to structure the franchise and make critical personell decision's you gotta respect the man to my left.Killerphins likes this. -
Just felt like pointing out the positives today, especially in regards to first-round picks. When you think of all the first-round busts around the NFL, and then you look at Long and Davis, and now even Odrick .... it just makes them 3 for 3 in the first round most likely. And that's a very good thing when you figure these guys are your best option for creating star players. One already is, one is well on his way, and the third has the makings, though he still has to prove it. -
Oh, also, it's not just us, the fans that do this (focus on the negatives) - it's our media as well. Armando is a great example, and I'm not an Armando hater, but he is the bellweather here. He's ALWAYS quick to rag on Tuna, Inc. over bad picks/signings. Not that he shouldn't mention it, but he tends to make an even bigger deal about them then is warranted - and it takes him longer to praise the good too, that's all.
But that's the nature of sports media, though.
