Scott Rolen is on the verge of escaping St. Louis manager Tony La Russa. Troy Glaus is on the verge of escaping the artificial turf in Toronto.

I like Troy Glaus... sad to see him go. Rolen is a quality player, however. Go Jays!
-
I think St. Louis gains the edge here. A power hitter to put next to Pujols. I hoped Dodgers could make a play for him since we need the pop at 3B and Glaus is a hometown guy. Oh well.

yea i think the cardinals will be improved next year
-
Scott Rolen has shoulder problems, he injures himself virtually every year now, so the Cardinals are getting a deal if they can make the trade.
-
didnt glaus get caught with steriods? or something like that?

My buddy described this trade perfectly:
The cards traded their apple with a bruise on the right side for the Blue Jays apple with a bruise on the left side. -
The Sawx are the reason the Yanks needed to include Hughes in trade talks.
I don't see Boston as a serious contender for him, they already have an excellent rotation and Beckett would want a huge jump in salary to be starting ace 1B to go along with Dice K's contract. Maybe that's just pure optimism on my part.
Speaking of optimism, my Theo voo doo doll with pins in the hands have prevented him from finalizing any trade for Santana. ;) -
